Long time PJ fan looking to go to the fundraiser @ sweet jane's. Is it open to all 10c members? Would love to hang out w/ fellow jammers before the show. would it be alright to go w/ 3 10c's plus 1? Long time PJ fan 1st time poster.
Open to everyone man. Looking at the RSVP lists this might be the biggest party of the tour.

Hey. We made it from Grand Rapids. (after customs twice, 70 toll roads, 9 suspension bridges, a traffic jam in New York and our GPS unable to recognize Canada and continuously trying to reroute us through pennsylvania)! Tried to order a pizza last night after 15 hours of driving, and after spelling "crowne Plaza" ten times...it never showed up. Came to the conclusion tht we are eher in the twilight zone, or the 5th dimension of hell. But, we would be willing to do just about anything to be at the show tonight!WHat time are you all heading to Sweet Janes? We are at the Crowne Plaza and would like some people to walk with (after multiple warnings from people back home about the "gang activity" in Hartford). Will be heading to get tickets this afternoon. (I will feel much better when they are in our hands). Hope you all made it here safely. Cant wait till tonight!
If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this
I think I've decided to just leave the car at the hotel, get a cab to Sweet Janes, shuttle to show and back, and then get a cab from Sweet Janes back to the hotel and not try to fool around with parking and walking, etc.
Hey, HUGE thanks to the ppl that organized everything last night- I was at Sweet Jane's by around 3:30, which had fairly good service based on how packed it was. Beer could have been colder but they were busy.
Raffle items that were donated were very cool, thanks to the fans, too, my sister and I won a nice poster from Spain 06.
Thanks to the bar (?) for putting up the old performances to get the crowd amped up for the show. Very good crowd as well, met lots of new friends mostly from out of state.
Loved the air conditioned shuttle bus; I was expecting a hot school bus.
I attended the preparty in 06 which was also good, but this year it seemed we had double the crowd?
Can't wait to hear how much was raised and see some pics.
Thanks again

Glad you had a great time We did too!!
I think Chris @ Jane's said there were 300-400 people at one point??? Insanity. With all of your help, $3,500.00 was raised for Jennifer Jaff/Advocacy for Patients! AMAZING!!!!
Many many thanks to Jeannette, Eric, Nixon, Demetrios, Gina, Flagg & Mrs. Flagg, Steve Dunne, Meegan and any other people I might have forgotten whp volunteered at this event.
I wasn't able to make it due to taking my kids to Lake Compounce all day and not getting there until 7:15 (drove with someone else who was working).....glad to see it went well. So, Instead of preparty, I got to watch the sun go down while waiting in line for tickets...very depressing. Lesson learned
again, good to see it went very well at sj's
If a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?
fantastic job and thanks to everyone who came by!!!
cheers!
GREAT TIME!
also soooo awesome to meet some long time friends, for the first time!
have to say this tho - i was quite pissed about the whole shuttle thing. last hartford show, we did the shuttle, dropped off right at the venue. didn't utilize it going back b/c we *just* missed one bus, and then waited and waited, no bus...so said fuck it and walked, no biggie. still cool for 8 bucks, even if just one way. THIS year, it seemed like they only drove us HALF way to the venue, which i did NOT know of ahead of time. i was on crutches and it sucked. that was a LONG-ass walk on crutches. however, thought still worth it b/c they said it would be easier/faster after the show, ok - fine. i asked a few to make SURE the shuttle did NOT leave without me since i obviously would be a slow-go getting to the bus. after the show, picked up my poster ASAP and high-tailed it otta there as quick as we could, which granted pretty damn slow. i was in pain, ankle swollen, exhausted. i tried to have a good attitude about it. that bridge grew about TWICE as long on the way back .....but i just kept telling myself get over the bridge, etc. we were *almost* there, and my friend sees the bus pulling away! he RAN the last bit to try and stop it. no such luck. quite honestly, i was ready to cry b/c i was sooo shattered by then. we had to hitchhike b/c there was just NO WAY i could walk more, and of course no cabs around. thankfully a fan from the show - a total stranger - gave us a lift and took us right to our hotel. THANK YOU random dude in the red SUV! anyhooooo....only $8 bucks, whatever.....great idea....but yes, as someone on crutches i was depending on that ride, so that blew.
I have to agree with you, d2d, the shuttle buses could have been a LOT better. I'm sorry you had to deal w/ it on crutches of all things!
i don't want to seem at all ungrateful for ALL the efforst people put into these pre-parties. i KNOW just how much work they are to coordinate, and they really go above and beyond. i also realize the shuttle thing is pure bonus. so again, i truly do appreciate EVERYthing. if i weren't on crutches, i would not care in the least. hubby and i really didn't back in 2006, no biggie. but yes...this year was painful. i didn't get dropped off right near the venue as expected, which sucked....and then to not get a ride back? ouch is an understatement. while it really is such a great/convenient thing..i definitely will think twice in the future. in the end...i focus on all the good times...but yes....my body and ankle were screaming and i had a HUGE bruise on my side by the end of the night since i had to walk sooooooooo long on the crutch. anyhoo...enough bitchin' by me, i do try and avoid it...just wanted to make some aware of the situation.
again....GREAT WORK and GREAT TIME......EVERY pre/post party!
I just wanted to thank all of you for the AMAZING fundraiser you held for us on Friday before the Hartford show. It was so great getting to meet you (finally) and to seeing your dedication to important causes up close and personal. What you did for us is HUGE. According to Laura, it may have been a tour record -- gotta love that -- and Laura kept holding up a sign saying "ADVOCACY FOR PATIENTS $3500" during the concert, and since we were watching from the side of the stage, we could see it! It was SO great. I hear that at least some of you had a similar vantage point in Boston last night, and I'm really happy for you -- you earned every bit of recognition you get and/or got. Just knowing there are people like you out there helps me to hang on through tomorrow's surgery and beyond, continuing to help people with chronic illnesses assert their rights. So thank you for being such wonderful people. Even more than the money, you are a shining example for us all. Thank you. Jennifer Jaff, Advocacy for Patients with Chronic Illness.
