So this is the tracklisting for "Death Magnetic":

01. That Was Just Your Life
02. The End Of The Line
03. Broken, Beat & Scarred
04. The Day That Never Comes
05. All Nightmare Long
06. Cyanide
07. The Unforgiven III
08. The Judas Kiss
09. Suicide & Redemption
10. My Apocalypse

Now I hope that this is some type of joke and that the song is total thrash and sounds nothing like the last two.

That would actually be kinda funny if you ask me :D

  • i can't fucking wait for this album any longer. metallica are up there with pearl jam as my favourite bands of all time! yes st anger wasn't great, but i am one of the people that loves EVERYTHING else.

i think load and reload are severely under rated... people hate them just cos they're not like the first 4. in a nutshell, i think everything metallica does is awesome and no one can change my mind on that!

just saw that tracklisting on metallica.com and saw Unforgiven III and my eyes almost popped out of my head! the unforgiven is an amazing tune and i also love unforgiven II, great songs. if III is anywhere up there with those 2 tunes then i will be overjoyed.

    BRING IT ON!!!

can't wait to see them again in leeds festival this year. sorry just had to let all that out :)

  • We didn't need the 2nd one. The first was a great song. They should have just let it stand on it's own. Now a 3rd? Come on...

I always thought the second one was called "Unforgiven, too"

I thought the end of the chorus was: "This song's called Unforgiven, too."

Naw. I made that up. I'm joking. But it IS kind of ridiculous.

Ok ok, you got me. but you know the only way to keep it from being a joke is to keep joking about it.

I'm terrified of how bad Unforgiven III could be. Even the idea is straight out of Spinal Tap. I'm just going to expect 19 minutes of free jazz and then hopefully I'll have a pleasant suprise when I finally hear it.
It is time to admit that we used to rock like hurricanes. It is time to run for the hills and go round and round. It is time for us to shout at the devil. We've got the right to choose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it, and we're not gonna take it anymore.

At least it's not called Unforgiven 33 and 1/3. I really do have high hopes for this record though, so I'll just keep hope alive that it's not a "shit sandwich." ;) (that was for you DocChicago)

Me too... I think the unforgiven 2 wasn't good. I wish the third will be better - because of the second, the first didn't seem to be so good as it was before releasing the net. First was special, but another one, and another?

You're comparing re-using a WORD like 'you' or 'man' (probably two of the most common words in the english language) a few times with re-using a SONG TITLE(that also happens to be a movie title) a few times!!!??? They're really scraping the bottom of the tub...

Doesn't really matter how common they are, pj still re used the same word..there are more words in the dictionary than 'man' and 'you'. So if anything more its worse because they are using common words and couldn't think of anything else. lololololol

Since when did song titles really matter / or more than the music?

I think its cool, could be a little trilogy that they use @ live shows. They certainly dont play unforgiven II a lot live.

I think its hilarious how people think they have no creativity just becuase they are doing unforgiven III.. its like they are making a new album and yet they are "scraping the bottom of the tub".

    I disagree. This is hilarious.

I hope their new cd is great. Nothing at all like St. Anger. :p:)

  • i find it funny that people are trashing the new album without hearing any of it, but because of a song title.
