but this is purely subjective of course.
That is hardly hidden is it? Gold it is though.« One man's glory is another man's hell.

you may be right my friend. I've got to believe there is some good stuff out there though. Hence my reason for starting this thread.rock chalk0 -
People forget what a great band MIDNIGHT OIL were. From Austarlia. I saw them many times and they were amazing . Diesel and Dust is essential on any 80's list0

Midnight Oil is one of the greatest hits CD's I have, so they didn't make the list, but I agree with you. Great band. I had Diesel and Dust on cassette back in the day and played the hell out of it. Good album. i remember playing that and Rattle & Hum a lot back in Jr. High. Need to pick it up on CD and it would probably be in my top 10 for the decade. Most of their other records came out in the 90's to my knowledge. Do they have another one from the 80's that's any good besides D&D?rock chalk0 -
Absolutely. Blue Sky MIne is very good (follow up to diesel from 90. Also 10,9,8,7.... is good )0

i love that 'truganini' song.
midnight oil still get a lot of love here in brazil...'Go easy, step lightly, stay free!'

I think Bob Dylan's Oh Mercy was one of the better albums of the 80's along with many of the others mentioned already. The Clash - Sandinista should definitely be somewhere too and is a must have IMO.Her?0

Most of my records are probably from the 90's or 00's, which makes sense because that was the majority of my being alive. I've got some stuff from the 70's, but I still have a decent amount of 80's albums, although not so many as some of the other decades.printf("shiver in eternal darkness\n");0 -

I've heard good things about Sandinista, but I've not heard a single note of the actual record. I'll have to look into that one.rock chalk0 -
I hope that one day you will consider listening to (all these artists have multiple must haves in my book but for simplicity):
The Replacements - Let it Be
Husker Du - Candy Apple Grey
Bob Mould - Workbook
Dinosaur Jr - You're Living All Over Me
Black Flag - Damaged
Bad Religion - Suffer
Camper Van Beethoven - Key Lime Pie
Ministry - The Land of Rape and Honey0 -
