I did not like Pearl Jam. I remember seeing the video for Jeremy and just thinking, that guy is wierd! Hated the song, however, the song reminded me of some conflicts in my life I would just assume forget. But, I met my S.O. and he is a huge Pearl Jam fan. I took him to his first Pearl Jam concert (and mine too) and I remember thinking, oh I know that song and that one. I guess I just never realized and at the time I was listening to a whole different style of music. Now, I am a huge fan and don't know how I lived with out PJ. What the hell was I thinking!
Going to a PJ concert made me a fan too!
I had a last minute ticket offer and I figured "Ah, what the hell. drinking beer at Merriweather surrounded by chicks in bikini's is a lot better than drinking beer in the practice space surrounded by rats and crack-heads"
Weezer. I loved "The Blue Album" but didn't really like the songs I heard from Pinkerton. Then the "The Green Album" came out and I remember why I loved their first cd so much. I probably have listened to their first cd as much as 10, or close to it. Actually, if I gave the entire Pinkerton cd a try now I'd probably like it.
Also, to a lesser extent, Green Day. I bought Dookie, Insomniac, and Nimrod but didn't buy Warning. I just didn't get into those songs as much either. But American Idiot is just a flipping great cd from start to finish. I'm back on the bandwagon.
Believe it or not, Pearl Jam! I'm not a big fan of Ten. The further along they go as a band, the more I like them. Crazy huh? Their last 5 albums have been brilliant IMO.

i couldnt care less for Race against the machine,,,but now i cant get enough of audioslave
I used to get freaked out by Rage when i was 12-13 b/c of their politics and stuff but about 6 months ago my friend made me listen to their self titled record and its fucking incredible and so is most of their stuff since then. Also, kindve liked Ten, Like VS a little bit more, Love Vitalogy and everything since

i see what u mean......i really loved Vs back then,........nowadays is still great but im more into their live version of those songs....To this day Ten is the only studio album of them that i dont have,,,,,,,,its a good one,,,,,definetely their weaker as a whole album....
P.S where's the love for NO code on your signature????....it's good to know Binaural is your #1 too!!!!!
*Proud member of the forged kings nebulae; those of us who love Binaural and Riot Act, and also think that Matt Cameron is the f*ckin greatest!
The first time I listened to the Pixies when I was like 13, they did nothing at all for me. Now I love them and have pretty much everything they have ever released.
Haha, the opposite thing happened to me with the Pixies, I thought they would be really cool but then I checked it out and I can't stand their music. Bands I wrote off...At the Drive-in and the Mars Volta I initially hated but now I can't get enough of either, especially Volta. I didn't like Incubus at first but now I can tolerate them. Actually, I didn't like Zeppelin at all at first, I remember saying to someone that they were "boring". Not one of my proudest moments...
I wrote Faith No More off (as did most of their fans at the time) not long after getting Angel Dust back in '92. I listened once, and tossed it into a pile of never-to-be-played-again tapes.
Four years later, I decided to rummage through that pile, dusted Angel Dust off and put it on out of boredom. And it changed the way I listen to music. I now rank that album as the second greatest album of all time, just behind Vs.

Incubus - I HATED Pardon Me the first 100 times I heard it. But then something changed, and now I love that song.....as a matter of fact, I love most all of their songs. My favorite Incubus album is Make Yourself (and the When Incubus Attacks EP - especially the acoustic version of.....yup, you guessed it....Pardon Me)
The White Stripes - Didn't like Fell In Love With A Girl the first 100000000000 times I heard it (seriously, it was on the radio every 10 damn minutes it seemed). But then, one day, it just clicked.....I think it was cuz I couldn't get the song out of my head. That, or I heard Joss Stone's cover, and I went back to the original and fell in love
Fear Factory - Back when Obsolete came out, I was looking for some new music to get into, and I saw this album at a Camelot music store listening station. There was something about the album art that caught my attention (I think that it had a lot to do with my playing a lot of Resident Evil 2 at the time). Keep in mind, the only metal I was really into at the time was Metallica and for some reason, I was into stuff like Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit and the like. Point being.....Fear Factory really didn't click with me. But for some reason, I kept going back to it. I eventually bought the album, and have since picked up everything they have done.....great death/industrial metal band.
Nirvana - was into them for a while, then just got bored with them, and rarely listened to 'em. But I recently gotten back into them a little bit, especially the Unplugged album and In Utero.
AIC - same as Nirvana, but back into heavily. Really love Unplugged and Dirt.
That's all I can think of right now.

Radiohead: i had only really heard the singles Creep, Paranoid Android and Karma Police, which i liked, but then i heard Kid A and Amnesiac and i hated that shit........but one of my mates who is a MASSIVE radiohead fan gave me copies of The Bends, OK Computer and Hail To The Thief........now i LOVE them 3 albums....but i still cant stand Kid A and Amnesiac
You Am I: this one is just stupid........one of my friends at high skool, who was a chick, used to idolise You Am I and was in love with Tim Rogers, so I, without even hearing any of their music, completely dismissed them as a "chick band" or whatever, for a couple of years, then i actually sat down and listened to Hourly Daily the album and was instantly hooked.......and when i told my friends, they all just bagged me relentlessly for weeks, cos i used to bag You Am I for years for no reason at all. ah, remember when we all used to be stupid teenagers with our crazy hormones
Tom Waits: my dad used to listen to him when i was a kid, and i would just think what is this weird ass shit i am hearing..........then i watched Fight Club, and Goin Out West rocked my world...then i listened to the album Rain Dogs, and was once again instantly hooked......i think it is an age thing...you hafta grow into Tom Waits.....

when all are one and one is all, to be a rock and not to roll.........
in my youth, and this is the trooth, i was a fan of soul music. motown and james brown. also, along with the early punk sounds of the who and mc5, i was digging the stones and the beatles and led zeppelin.
i refused to listen to pink floyd. they were too trippy. i remember thinking that if you had to drop acid to listen to a band, they couldn't be that good.
i was wrong. i can listen to pink floyd and get high without dropping acid. a contact high, i suppose.
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
This is kind of embarassing, but The Police, the Who, and Yes. Now all three are definitely up there as some of my favorites. And I think the Who are arguably in the top 3 bands of all time (The Who, Led Zeppelin, and the Beatles in my opinion). I think that Tommy may be the best complete album ever.
you couldn't swing if you were hangin' from a palm tree in a hurricane.
I used to dislike rush untill my buddy played some of their stuff for me, it started to grow on me. their still not one of my fav. bands but I like some of their stuff.
same with me, i couldnt stant getty's voice, but it has grown on me
also didnt care for rage against the machine, but i love audioslave and went back and started listening to them, and now i think they're pretty good
i have wished for so long, how i wish for you today
