Yeah that's pretty much the story Waters tells on the DVD. Life ticking boxes reminds me of the film "About Schmidt". It's all about -ANYTHING- but that.
Cheers.
Yeah, I could have moved to Brisbane and lived with my father, but living at the beach was much more appealing. In retrospect, even though I did it tough, it was probably the right thing to do for my headspace. It could have gone all wrong, but eventually it turned out OK. It was where I met the guy who told me about the adult high-school he had gone to, which is where I ended up getting my Uni entry score a few years later. Funny, but I have never realised that until just now. Wow !! He was living there in a tent too, cos he had just been back-packing in Europe for a year and couldn't get his head around the ordinary life again. Funny we seem to chat too, I wonder how many other people here have done that (tent)??Music is not a competetion.0 -

you people are crazy
but tons of people would think im crazy for saying that LED ZEPPELIN is completely overrated. and of course so are the easy targets like AC/DC, Metallica... etc.
I love the Beach Boys! I just didn't think that they should be on the list because I don't consider them to be ROCK.
Can't say as I'm a huge fan of REM but I can see why people like them. But as I never really got into them, then I do consider them over-rated to a degree, because I can't see what all the fuss is about. But I'm sure you can.
Led Zepplin are fantastic but I agree that they are over rated sometimes.
And clearly I love Metallica but I could see why people who aren't fans could consider them to be over-rated
So Comfortably (my theme song by the way) the bit I'm really want to get at is AC/DC.
Acca Dacca may be incredibly over-rated now, and their music has become extremely formulaic. BUT AC/DC back in the day before we lost Bon is amazing, fresh, funny, and absolutely listenable. Lyrically clever and truly toe tapping stuff. AND let us not forget the urge it brings in people to headbang!
I would have to say that to the rest of the world early AC/DC is quite possibly grossly under rated.
But then I'm a girl, so what would I know!NOPE!!!
