mareede wrote:That's a nice list! We don't need any of those yet, although if you want to re-up 11/09/96 Chicago, I'd be happy as a pig in slop. I'm assuming you grabbed the master transfer from DIME a few years ago...I did too and then my computer crashed and I lost it.0

This person has the whole video!! With Pearl Jam and Mad Season too!!!“Life is life everywhere. Life is in ourselves and not outside us. There will be men beside me, and the important thing is to be a man among men and to remain a man always, whatever the misfortunes, not to despair and not to fall - that is the aim of life, that is its purpose.”

And I listed in the Live Guide that it would likely never surface. Jesus H. Christ! That's a real professional video, mixed and edited. Amazing! The audio mix is different from the one we have, too.
This is amazing. I wonder if he knows the Hype! crew?0 -

Including PJ, Mudhoney and Mad Season too? "Spin The Black Circle" is DESTROYING me right now...one of the few favorite PJ songs of mine I haven't seen live.0 -

Yeah, I downloaded the whole thing. Someone should send a PM to the guy and ask for the DVD...lol“Life is life everywhere. Life is in ourselves and not outside us. First off, great thread! Always nice to see some interest in Soundgarden.
I've already downloaded a bunch of shows from here (belated thank you's to all involed!), but was wondering if any kind soul could please upload the recently shared dime torrents to megaupload or something similar for those of us who don't torrent. I would love to hear those shows. Being a vocalist myself with Cornell as a main influence, it's always exiting to hear as much new material as possible.
Btw. I've been enjoying the new liveguide too, keep up the good work mareede!0 -
Duder5k wrote:So, any updates on this? Did you convert it yet? Maybe matt can help you if you're having any problems uploading to the tracker...
I'm gettin' it transfered to a standalone DVD-Recorder this or next week. Then I'll try to torrent it, if I fail I'll have a DVD flying over to Matt, If he wants to do it. So just a few more weeks. Sorry, thanks for your patience.0 -
Edit: Nevermind.
Opiumrebel, no rush. Since it might take a little longer, could you tell us more? Like maybe...are there any full length live performances? Any cool video of the studio or something?0 -
Duder5k wrote:What the hell? Why are posts being deleted? Is this a cover up? Because the entire Self-Pollution Radio show was uploaded to youtube, all video. Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, and of course, SOUNDGARDEN. This is insane. There are TONS of live videos of all these bands, most of which have been on the site for at least a year, and none of those were pulled.
In fact, I was downloading the .flv of the first part of the Soundgarden show, and my damn internet went out. I had like %50 complete. I only just got my connection back a few hours ago. If I hadn't have lost my connection I'd be watching that damn show right now.
Marie, could you upload this to DIME or something? Maybe PM us with more info?
I understand them taking down the PJ videos, but the others? Since when does 10C owns copyright for SG, Mad Season and Mudhoney now?
Let's stop talking about this here, I don't wanna see this thread deleted“Life is life everywhere. Life is in ourselves and not outside us. O.K. here's a full description of the "Jam-Episode" featuring Soundgarden, aired on German channel "VIVA" ca. November 96.
Ill start with the CONS first:
1. No full video or live performance, only snippets, sorry :-(
2. Picture is somewhat speckled caused by a defect capacitor in my VCR ( this is negligible for the speckling is only minor)
3. Except for one brief subtitled part the entire documentary is dubbed in German (this might be annoying for foreign speakers)
Now the pros:
1. Exclusive interviews shot for the documentary with Chris and Kim in their respective hotel rooms (very fancy ones).
2. Archive interviews with Mat, Kim, Chris, Ben throughout the entire Soundgarden area (including a short video of the photo shot for "The Louder Than Love Album with Chris wearing Gaffer-Tape over his nipples :lol)
3. Exclusive footage (though incomplete) of the band performing SWMGEC and Spoonman live in Cologne in 96 (Semi-pro shot with multiple cameras but camera audio no soundbard) (This is the bands own footage and I believe the complete concert was recorded including a soundboard recording. Their old official, now defunct, website featured additional clips of Black Hole Sun, TyCobb and Burden In My Hand)
4. Rare archive footage*, for example Matt and someone from Sub-Pop throwing a pickle with mustard out of a high-rise, saying "This gonna be a tree someday" :lol
5. Very well produced by the respected Austrian production team DoRo. Very well researched the've also mentioned Matt and Ben's side project Hater (no video footage just audio)
*please note the archive footage varies in quality.0 -

Some legal guesses: They might have claimed copyright because the video shows mostly Matt and Matt is now under contract by the Pearl Jam management.0 -
I'm curious about something. Do you think everyone would dig an official Pearl Jam torrent site that was maybe subscription based? Like pay a small amount each month for unlimited access to the torrents PJ had to offer (new and old boots, whatever)? I was thinking it would a cool addition to just having downloads again. Why not do both, individual downloads for those who aren't into torrents and an official torrent site for those who prefer it and want a lot of files easily. And it still supports the band directly. Could solve some of their bandwidth issues too.Sam0
