I bought a 4GB the other day. I have a little more than 600 songs on it already.
I have room for a little less than 400 more songs.

cant live without it huh
got 850 songs on, just about full
Me too. Finally upgraded from my 3rd generation 10 gig about 3 weeks ago to the 60gig video. I love having all this extra space, although its filling up fast. Got about 6000 songs so far, quite a few videos (Neil Young, Flaming Lips, PJ, Drive By Truckers), and most of my iPhoto collection.

11,800 total songs. I'm very selective of what I have on it, thats about 1180 albums of music. My cd/lp/tape collection is over 10,000 total, however.

I've got a mac, so I use handbrake to rip dvd's to the iPod video format. You can either rip the whole movie, or chapters at a time. For the music DVDs I just rip each song as a seperate video, although you can't seem to play them all through at once then (I haven't really worked too hard on this end yet though, I'm sure I could just create a video playlist).
No CSNY for me, it turns out I'm out of town when they will be near me. I'm a little apprehensive about this tour, if Neil really wants to get the message for Living With War out there, a tour with CSNY and top ticket prices of $250 isn't going to do it. Still, it could be Neils only tour of the year, so it would have been worth going and sitting in the cheap seats.

I like to rip videos you get from bonus or limited edition cd releases. Like QotSA Lullibies and Songs for the Deaf -- 20 minute videos like this don't take as long as full movies converted from Handbrake and QuickTime Pro. Also ripped seasons one and two of that old BBC comedy The Young Ones. Remember that from the good old days of MTV??? A couple episodes of Six Feet Under and Freaks and Geeks too.
Best thing I ever bought.
I have about 1.8g left on it. Some things will be coming off of it, always adding new stuff.
Closing in on 6,000 songs, two videos, and some pics.
Young Ones was a great show! I'm old enough to remember its first run on MTV. Didn't realize that was out on DVD, I'll have to search it out. I've got a few episodes of Family Guy and Aqua Teen Hunger Force stored on my iPod too. Always good for a break...
