I would never compare them either, you was just being a clever arse because of the name thing.

all i said was i dont love elvis presley. youre the one who started in on even costello would admit he is crap compared to presley. then you said presley ruled the playground and costello would be embarassed to compare himself to presley. i was merely providing a counterpoint. :p:)

    if elvis is the king
    who is james brown..

Sam Cooke? He's always been a favorite of mine.

Add me to the loves Elvis Presley list too.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

  • I love old music. Billie Holiday is one of my favorites along with Miles Davis and John Coltrain. I'm only twenty but their music is damn relaxing.
    Shows:
    San Diego 2003
    Grand Rapids 2004
    Grand Rapids 2006
    Detroit 2006
    Columbus 2010

Sam Cooke is my favourite singer of all time.

A Change Is Gonna Come is simply beyond music.

His Live at the Harlem Square Club is the greatest live album ever.

Hehe, clearly you've only heard Coltrane's early stuff :) The further he moved away from Miles, the more impossible it is to describe his music as anything like relaxing.

Compare his 1966 version of that lovely old Hammerstein and Rogers number, My Favourite Things, to his version from the album :p

    Oh yes for sure.

My parents are really kids from the 50's, so all I got during my youth was old Rock 'n Roll. As cheesy as some of those songs are, I luv m!
Why not be mediocre and be the best at it that you can be?
