We've talked before about that haven't we? Didn't you just move out there like 8 months ago or something?

dammit, i'm sorry....you are probably right. it's just when i see 'toledo' on here it busts me up. i always thought it was just me and my buddy that were fans there.

anywaaaay, new album is good, huh?

how would you rate it with the other ones?

No big deal, I have no friends that dig Pearl Jam like I do, so I have to go to one show with each friend. Instead of following them for a week or two like I want too.

New Black Keys is just amazing. Mind you I'm a big fan of their extreme mellow stuff I.E. Nice and Gentle, The Lengths, Everywhere I go etc. But Thickfreakness is the greatest song, and that album is my favorite. This one is more of a 60's rock feel, more Zepplinish, here the Marshal more. I'd say it's right up there with the other's!

Still hoping that the band checks them out. Digs them, then comes back to the states and haves them open for them. That would be over the top!!

  • Also a warning. The samples of Magic Potion on amazon, do not do that album any justice. I was actually going into the store to buy it thinking I was going to be dissapointed due to the samples I heard. Boy was I wrong!!!

I still have not been able to see them. They are playing in Cleveland in November I think. Show was sold out before I even heard about it. Not playing anywhere else close.

Thanks, It's my favorite, and No I have not heard it live. They played it at the sound check at my first show ever, but didn't perform it that night. Of course they played "No Way" in the sound check that night, and we didn't get that either. That's the breaks. Some day! Plenty of shows to still see.

I believe so......and the New Pornographers skipped the Showbox and played the Nightlight in Bellingham. The sound system at the Nightlight was done by the same guy who did the Showbox sound and he says the Nightlight's sound is better.

    So, hooray B'ham!

the big come up is the best, then thickfreakness, then rubber factory.

they are ok live. not the best i've ever seen, but not the worst.

ditto. i spun it for a few days. havent listened to it in weeks.
    I miss you hippiemom.
  • saw them last night in Phoenix....amazing...i'm hooked.
  • I saw them open for Radiohead in Montreal back in June. I didn't have any expectations because I wasn't that familiar with them but I was pleasantly surprised. Love the guy's guitar sound.

I like the album, but I keep listening to it and it keeps failing to really impress me. It is good but it never does anything to really make it stand out. The heavy guitar sound combined with the completely non-heavy vocals make for a really interstting sound, but too many of the songs are forgettable. Rubber Factory is much better.
