Oasis plan brand new single for 2006

The band hope to release a new tune in the new year
Oasis hope to release a new non-album single early next year.

The band are expected to release 'Let There Be Love' as their next single, but have said its follow-up might be a standalone effort.

"We haven't done it since 'Whatever'," Noel Gallagher told Xfm. "It depends if we get the time to go into the studio because we're pretty flat out until next March. We'll see what happens after that."

The song in question was written by Liam Gallagher but was omitted from recent album 'Don't Believe The Truth'.

"It's called 'The Boy With The Blues'... I think we're gonna put out just as a single, that's not gonna be on the next album," explained the guitarist. "That might be out for early next year, but I'm not sure yet."

Noel added they had plenty of other new material in hand, though he wasn't sure if it was destined for the band's next album.

"We've got about 11 pretty good songs for the next record that were left over from this one, but if we go into the studio I don't know if we're gonna go in there and say 'Right we're making an album'," he mused. "We're just going record the ones for this one that we didn't record in our own studio and see how it goes."

LET THERE BE LOVE TO BE 3RD SINGLE
    19 October 2005

‘Let There Be Love’ will be the third single taken from Oasis’ double platinum selling album ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’. The album has already spawned two number one singles this year, ‘Lyla’ and ‘The Importance Of Being Idle’. In October it won Q Magazine’s prestigious Album Of The Year award and the People’s Choice Award.

The single is released on CD, DVD and 10” vinyl on 28th November 2005 on Big Brother Recordings. The CD and 10” will feature a brand new Noel penned track entitled ‘Sittin’ Here In Silence (On My Own)’ which was produced and mixed by Dave Sardy. The documentary footage included on the DVD goes behind the scenes of Oasis’ biggest ever world tour, which will seen them play to over 2 million people worldwide in 2005. Recorded by renowned promo director Baillie Walsh it is a taste of a longer film to come, entitled “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” and culminates in the spine-tingling new video for “Let There Be Love”.

    The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

    Feels like were all alone
    Running further from what’s right
And there are no more heroes to follow

    So what are we becoming?
    Where did we go wrong?

    Liam is my fave! :)
  • Liam is my fave! :)

    are you serious?
noel is the songwriting genius in the family (and the band) and he probably has a stronger singing voice. liam is the rockstar frontman but where would he be without his brother? i do laugh at his quotes though...they always give me a laugh. i guess there is something endearing about someone who says exactly what is on their mind...a bit childlike i suppose.

true although liam is still suck in beatlemania while noel has gone off slightly at least. i think songs like "mucky fingers" and "the importance of being idle" are the strongest songs off the album. although "love like a bomb" is a great song.

The Importance of Being Idle and Part of the Queue are the gems for me in the album...and among the Liam tracks..The Meaning of Soul's me fave.

i watched an interview with noel from the mtv site recently that was cool. he was talking about how he hates making videos and how liam has became quite a good and prolific songwriter.
