Why do people think all Pop music is inferior to other music?

One of my favourite bands is Take That. I'm a 26 year old guy so a lot of people find this a little odd, but I think they're great. I love pop music when its done well, and I think Take That do it very well. But why do people think pop music, as a genre, is inferior to most other genres?
