Coldplay are great, not in PJ's league - certainly not live, but they are pretty cool nonethless, and they come across as thoroughly nice guys....

sure its not everyones thing, but I've seen them a few times now and they always put a good show on....In fact they wrote probably the song of the year a few years back in Fix You...they dont get much better than that.

Its because theyv are now huge, people have to hate them......thats life

I'd say people dislike Coldplay not because they are huge but because their music is just bland. Thats why I don't like them. And because Chris Martin annoys the hell out of me too!

Retarded half witted homophobia like this is also a good reason for shit for brains morons like yourself to be drowned at birth.

In light of your post, I reckon Coldplay are pretty cool.

And if you're a Pj fan? i'm embarrassed to call myself one.

love em or hate em, you have to give them props for playing a FREE show at MSG. that's pretty fuckin cool if you ask me.

Although I find Coldplays music to be very boring, I agree with you.. That`s pretty cool.
And again, although I find Coldplays music to be boring, I wouldn`t mind if Chris Martin did show up on stage. I love a new take on a Pearl Jam song.. I just love to hear other artists sing the songs of my favorite band. Sometimes it`s good, sometimes it`s bad.

I noticed this too - there are far more important things in life to be criticising peoples opinions and labelling people - especially in a chat room!

is that the only way Coldplay can get folk to go their shows by giving away free tickets lol. Couldn't think of a more boring way to spend 2 hours of my life...
I've seen them 3 times now and their concerts are great.

It's just their albums (after the first one) that suck.

They sound like they were created under laboratory conditions by robots.

Once they get to out the studio and onto the stage they are very very good

And with 4 words you betray your intelligence in 2 completely separate ways.

It would be "cool" to see coldplay supporting PJ yes.

Too many music snobs on this board. The irony being PJ is a favorite whipping boy of music snobs on other message boards, with the same arguments used here to discribe Coldplay.

    this is all too true.

I quite liked the first coldplay album, but found 'A rush of blood....' very dull, I haven't heard X&Y all the way though and i've only heard 2 tracks from the latest offering and i've not been impressed.

Seen em live once as well, again it wasn't anything special - they probably have improved since (this was a first album support gig). Gotta confess the more Chris Martin speaks or acts like a prick with a God complexion the more I'm tempted to hate them regardless of the music i'm afriad. At least when Ed and Bono rant and rave they are generally trying to make a valid point be it political or on enviromental issues.
