    Yeah Patrick.. good thread!! :)

My favorite song eh? I'll look for some videos. If I could find a video of One More Saturday Night from the Grateful Dead Movie I would definitely post it. Not my favorite song, but my favorite video footage of them.

The other day I was grooving to Dick's Picks 1 and right now my favorite song is Here Comes Sunshine from that disc. But it always changes.
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.

HERE'S THE DEAD IN THEIR PRIME! China Cat-> Rider from Oct. 1974 Wall of Sound tour. Starts out a little slow, but picks up nicely with a great jam in between... only problem is that it's split on two videos

    part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVDf1oH-z68
    part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0f6f587sKs

Here's a great way to open a show... Bertha from 1989 right before Brent died :(

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5seCugLrhOM

Finally, here's a good Jack Straw from 1978 with Donna

Not sure. An old boyfriend of mine used to play it live. I know it is on Bear's Choice 1. Such a great song and it makes me smile. He was a nice boy. :)

I think that's the version from Radio City Music Hall. I just smile so much watching it. I just fucking love Ripple. :)

    Love the crowd shots also.
  • Ripple is definitely my favorite on a day when I just wanna chill.

But, Shakedown Street is the one that gets me going.

but ever since that man died it makes me cry everytime! And I agree with another comment I saw on youtube, the day I heard that he died it in deed changed my life forever. It was such a insane night. Bob Weir just happened to be playing in NH that night at the beach. I did not have a ticket but we went there anyways. I hung out with great friends. The moon was full. It was a beautiful night. The show gets over and there in front of me was my friend Dan who I had not seen for years and years. He would always predict the songs that they would open with to all my shows I went to and he was always right. We ended up staying up all night, talking, crying, laughing. The next morning we went to visit another friend, took a picture, self portrait you know. The reflection of the flash or the light in the room whatever, made us all have stars in our eyes, best picture ever!

(getting chills and crying as I am writing this and listening to this song AGAIN!!!!)

Just recently started listening to The Dead. I only have American Beauty and my faves off that CD are Box of Rain, Friend of the Devil and Ripple.
“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’” - Kurt Vonnegut
