My husband brought some of their cds to listen to on the road to Vermont and I think I've fallen in love...

We must have listened to "the bends" cd five times. :p:)

We have that one and OK Computer. Which ones should we buy next?

Does anyone have suggestions? :)

I'm going to hazard a guess as to why she made the suggestion (I'm sorry if I'm wrong), but there's a HUGE difference between the Bends and their "newer" records like Kid A.

OK Computer is by far my favorite and is a nice segue between old and new, but if you're looking for more like the Bends, you might not be so excited about the others.....

Like catefrances said though, I would definitely go In Rainbows next. Of the new ones, since OK Computer, it's the most user friendly.

That being said, you are in for a treat! If you're into their new stuff, they will continue to blow your socks off each and every time you listen to their records, no matter how many times you've heard it before!!!

Have fun, enjoy the ride! :)

Kid A is my fav Radiohead record, so I suggest getting that one. But if you're really having a hard time picking one buy the two disc greatest hits. It covers all bases except In Rainbows.

welcome to the club, they're a great band.

    even behind pablo honey??

hail to the thief is a really great album- There There, 225, go to sleep, where i end and you begin, and a wolf at the door alone make it incredible, the other songs are great too but some of them are definitely fillers (The Gloaming...)

    IMMEDIATELY go out and buy:
    KID A
    AMNESIAC
    HAIL TO THE THIEF
    IN RAINBOWS
Put these four albums in their own playlist and hit shuffle. In my opinion, they keep getting better with each album, thus, these are their four best albums to date.

Justam! I hope all is going great with ya! :D Congrats on finding Radiohead!

Well, with you being a classical musician, you surely will appreciate In Rainbows. There are some really complex songs on that one. I really like every song on that one. Not a hard rocker but a subtle one.

Weird Fishes Arpeggi for instance. Haha, drummer playing in 4/4, guitar riff in 11, and they NAIL that one on stage! Too bad they passed right by you live, as they are as good as it gets live!

Actually you can watch In Rainbows:

I agree!!!! Kid A and Amnesiac are very different than the Bends and OK Computer (which i think was already established) but if you aren't thrilled at first, give it a chance, those 2 albums took time for my husband to appreciate after the bends and OK. They were recorded around the same time so to me they have similar sound. They are such a great band, always trying something new. ENJOY!!!!!

Like that other guy said... if you LOVE The Bends, don't be surprised if their later stuff doesn't rub you the right way. A big departure, but here and there you can still hear some remnants of their "Bends" sound.

The Bends and OK Computer are great cd's (especially OK Computer... all-time top 5 for me). My 2nd favorite after OK is In Rainbows, I guess that would be my suggestion. You can download it for free LEGALLY (some marketing thing they did for the album... pretty cool actually)

I know I'm just repeating a lot of other posts now, but just give them a listen. And if you give it a chance to sink in and grow on you, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
And before his first step... He's off again...

Get "Hail To The Thief" and "In Rainbows". Especially "In Rainbows". They sound like a natural progression after "OK Computer". "Kid A" and "Amnesiac" were sort of a detour and are pretty hard to digest at first. You should get those last.
