Is it worth it? youre not gonna see the band probably in 2 or 3 more years...I think its better to be plain sober and enjoy the show?

any good stories about getting wasted at the parking lot?

I would have to say this totally depends on the venue... if you are in Camden, or pretty much anywhere in Jersey, you will get faded before and after the show!

is it officially legal or illegal to get wasted at the parking lot??? Ive never seen cops take away somebody for example...

really depends on the venue... at alpine valley, people are drunk and wasted everywhere in the lot, and in the venue... at tinley park(chicago, not too far from alpine, also an outdoor venue) they make you go straight into the venue, as soon as you step out of your car, or they will give you a ticket. I haven't been there in years, but that was how it was for a Who show...

I have.. If you are underage you can get carted off by the cops for drinking. Different rules apply to different venues but for the most part if you are over the legal age and not causing any trouble than they won't bother you much.

    there's for irony:
in most of Europe, you can legally drink anywhere in the street, so whilst queuing too.
But being GA shows, you better not or you won't last long in the heat and shake of a pit.. (not even considering the loo breaks, beer is a BIG no-no!)

that said, Verona 06, seated show, pouring rain, got drunk and enjoyed the show far more than I would have sober (boring setlist).. and Pistoia and Dusseldorf queues were all the nicer for the wine (but sobered up before the show started)

but gosh did I miss being able to have a couple of pints whilst queuing for the Vic! stupid American laws  (I mean, come on..you can drive, have sex, vote, go to war, be executed before you can drink? that's fucked up!! )

well when a beer is $12 a pop inside the BG Civic Auditorium you try to get your fill outside the venue from the liquor store around the corner who sells you the same size beer for $2.50 a pop. That is until some security person tells me to dump the last swig of it, resulting in pure alcohol abuse!

getting wasted at a Pearl Jam show?

seems stupid to me...especially after so many times having people falling into/over me, my wife getting elbowed in the head, and people wanting to start fights...

it's my favorite band...i prefer listening to them the way i do in my car...sober.

now, i have been to a couple of audioslave shows and i have enjoyed myself as far as the booze goes.

    Esther's here and she's sick?

hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks

    :D That's so God damn funny :D

As for me, I've had a few beers before the shows but nothing too crazy. However, in Vegas '06 I grabbed two beers and walked into the row, looked around, and asked the guy next to me where my wife was. His expression was great as he told me he had no idea. Then I look down three rows and see my wife saying, "What the hell?" I was in the wrong row. I probably looked like the biggest jackass.

I love a good drink as much, if not more than, than the next guy - but why in the hell would someone pay $100 for a couple of tickets to a show, then proceed to drink themselves to the point where they can't remember where they are, let alone what is going on right in front of them? I just don't get it.
  • i dont get wasted at shows anymore.... there was an incident the second time i saw the Chili Peppers...basically i dont remember seeing them at all. but i do remember getting sick multiple times in the Mellon Arena bathroom...

but anyways... i do enjoy getting a slight buzz before a show... a few beers and then a good strong piss after the pre-set or opening band and then its time to rock!!

but n o i think its fucking a waste to get housed beyond belief

Camden 06 was the biggest tailgate show I've ever been to, INSANE! I enjoy drinking a few beers before the show, but I never let it get out of hand, most I ever drank before a show was DMB in 05, I drank a whole 12 pack, then went in and kept buying beer after beer, I don't even remember the show. But all my friends said the show sucked!

I must admit to having split an entire case of beer with my buddy before the show in Camden (06). Still, I had a great time and thankfully they cut off beer sales early so I was sorta sobered up for the encores. Usually, I try to keep it to a sixer.

Thanks again to the assholes I was next too at the Grand Rapids show in 06. It takes alot to piss me off and they sure did a great job.

Kinda had a flashback just then. lol :)

I enjoy a nice buzz before a show! It's an event...a celebration of great music!

Nothing crazy...just a strong buzz...I like to remember the shows. I save the drunk nights for the cover bands.

Wow, some people it seems that there is no in-between between getting wasted and staying totally sober.

For me, I have only been straight up drunk 1 time at a PJ concert and I regret not remembering more of the show.

However, I drink and smoke pot at every show I attend. Nothing wrong with a nice cool buzz.
