I'm pretty disappointed with the album. A few decent songs (death to my hometown, wrecking ball, and shackled and drawn), but I'm not impressed with the rest.
I really dislike the version of Land of Hopes and Dreams. I think that tune really got butchered...way too overproduced for my taste.
Still looking forward to the Philly shows. Hopefully I will like the album more after hearing some of the tunes live (though I will be hoping he plays more older stuff...I think his work has been pretty average since the Magic album).
So, is there an opening act for the upcoming US tour? I can't find anything.
Nah, he doesn't usually have an opener
Take note Pearl Jam.

Another fan is born! Wish I could pull up my Bruce concert review from a few years ago. That's how I let everyone know I was on the Springsteen bandwagon!
Thanks everybody! Just heard Darkness...SO GOOD!!! Can't wait til I hear them all!
Excellent choice! Pick up Born to Run yet?

"Wrecking Ball" is #1 in the US, Bruce's 10th #1 album in the US and tying him with Elvis for 3rd most #1's. Pretty damn good accomplishment.

For the Boss pros, is his show from September 30, 1985, one of his most famous and best shows? I see it represented well on the "Live/1975-85" album.

The Live 1975-85 album is one of the great what could have beens, fair few overdubs and such like and some editing (the Backstreets in particular is missing the whole middle "Sad Eyes" section). I'm not a huge fan of the Born In The USA tour, I have the Where The Rivers Meet boot from 1984 which is pretty good.
The Stone Pony London forum had a huge discussion about the must-have's from each tour. Check it:

Heard Devils and Dust today, fantastic album! Nebraska tomorrow!
would have loved to see Springsteen on that tour but tix sold out in 5 minutes, and my computer conection froze. Dammit. Other friends of ours went, and told us it was great. There was only a 2 ticket limit per person. When the connection timed out grrrrrrrrrrr. Got back in, and they were sold out :(

I pulled 6th row center for that tour at the Verizon in Grand Prairie. I didn't live in Dallas at that time though, I was still in South Texas about 8.5 hours away and had some exams that I could not miss. Had to miss the show instead.

yeah, I was living in Denton attending school at North Texas. Grande Prarie is a beautiful venue. Saw The Moody Blues there. Not a bad seat in the the house. Pretty sure my friend might have that Bruce boot, I'll have to check with him. If it had been a 4 ticket limit, we would have been covered (like normally it's between 4-8 most shows). With this being a Bruce acoustic/ solo tour we knew we were screwed.
