Agreed.......(own a original U.S. 45 and a Japanese import)..........the only other names that strike me as Masters of the "B" side are PJ and U2............didn't Springsteen have a lot of decent stuff on "b" sides back in the day?
Springsteen has a whole boxset of Bsides called "Tracks". discs one and two are amazing the rest is pretty much crap.
he does have a TON (i mean a TON) of stuff that's still unreleased. i have a bunch of it and it's amazing.. especially the old early 70s acoustic stuff. word has it that there's a Tracks II coming soon. my fingers are crossed.
i have never got over the fact that 1963 by new order was a b side.

Elliott Smith's B Sides stand side by side with the album tracks. If you listen to the B Sides, they don't sound like B Sides at all. The earlier B Sides are more like the poppy later album tracks and the later B Sides are more like the earlier folky tracks, but it's all great.

Need to check out a lot of these. As much as Live sucks these days, they had some good b-sides, especially from The Distance to Here which should have been a double album. Check out "Vine Street" and "Deeper"
