What are some of your favorite b-sides of all time? Also, which band has the best b-sides?

Here's my list:

Sad- Pearl Jam
Yellow Ledbetter- Pearl Jam (I will have to end here, I think we all know PJ has someof the best B-sides ever)
Use Me- Better Than Ezra
Proof- Coldplay
Acquiesce- Oasis
Talk Show Host- Radiohead
Inside My Head- Radiohead

I would have to say that (outside of Pearl Jam) the best b-sides go to either Oasis or Radiohead

ohhhh I forgot to mention them...yeah they have some amazing b-sides

Personal favorites are "Spanish Eyes", "Deep in the Heart", "Salome", "Silver and Gold", "Lady With the Spinning Head" and "Holy Joe"...how "Holy Joe" didn't make it on Pop is beyond me, it's better than half the album(and that's coming from someone who loves Pop, this song is just that good)

Agreed.......(own a original U.S. 45 and a Japanese import)..........the only other names that strike me as Masters of the "B" side are PJ and U2............didn't Springsteen have a lot of decent stuff on "b" sides back in the day?

  • The Verve had some mind blowingly good b-sides. Travis has also been solid on the b-side front. U2 hasn't really had any strong b-sides since the pre-Achtung Baby days. Pearl Jam of course has great b-sides but I'm still waiting for something to pop up from the new album.

Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, and Pearl Jam have the best b-sides of any band ever.

And the Pumpkins had probably the most b-sides of any band in history...

where would you recommend looking for some of these b-sides. I have heard the Pearl Jam b sides and the RHCP and Travis b-sides which I all loved. I would love to download some Radiohead,Smashing Pumpkins, Beck and Oasis b-sides.

Radiohead I'm not sure... go to the mortegi tempo boards (link on http://www.greenplastic.com ) and ask for some.

Pumpkins are probably a bit easier to find. I could send you basically everything but i just went through that and it's quite a hassel so ask someone else for now :p

The Smiths and Morrissey produce the best B sides, smiths especially.

    which reminds me...

although it's hard to tell what a b-side is with this band, Modest Mouse have INCREDIBLE b-sides sitting around on weird albums.

Interstate 8, Workin' on Leavin' the Livin', All Night Diner, Broke, most of the real songs on "The Fruit that Ate Itself", Night on the Sun, So Much Beauty in Dirt....

That reminded me because the Smith's Johnny Marr is now a part of the band :D

Blind Melon had some really good B-Sides if you listen to "Nico." Soup is killer, as well as the Pusher.

So we now have Lost Dogs by Pearl Jam, and Lost Crowes by the Black Crowes?
  • It's got to be the Beatles. Most of the Beatles B-Sides ended up being number #1 songs.

oasis's b-sides far exceed their album tracks.

    mostly because jackass isn't singing.

    the fame
    shout it out loud
    just getting older
    carry us all
    talk tonight
    half the world away
    stay young

    the list goes on.

i could listen to oasis b-sides all day. in fact, i think i will.
