Cool to see this thread still alive...and again, very cool to see what people are listening to.

reachdown12, thanks. :);) Beautiful list yourself. Mad Season! Yes...great call there.

The one I keep coming back to is Jimmy Eat World - Futures.

Nice! I've actually been listening to Clarity a lot lately. :o

Also...PINK FLOYD has been complimenting these rainy, winter times perfectly. Been listening to a lot of Meddle (aww my Meddledeal would be so proud :) ) as well as PULSE. So fitting!!

Elliot Smith & Michael Andrews' score from Donnie Darko have been in high rotation too. I just LOVE how music can fit the mood of the season like this. The greatness of both are exaggerated and complimented so much by each other. Love that. :)

  • great topic....here's a few and why.

Nirvana - Bleach(first cd I ever received at christmas 1992. Proceeded to play the hell out of it)

Weezer - Blue Record(we had a massive blackout in st. john's in 1995, so I listened to this tape in my walkman at my grandmother's, who had a fireplace. The whole family was there for about 3 days, and it was a great time, even without power)

Pearl Jam - Vitology(I think this one was released in fall/winter? Anyways, Not for You will forever remind me of being a cold teenager)

Minus the Bear - They Make Beer Commercials Like this(just moved back to vancouver when I discovered this band. Lots of play that winter)

Blind Melon - Nico(when I met my current girlfriend,in december 2002, she barely would have the heat on, so we'd get together with a blanket and hang out. This was the soundtrack to that)

Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde(dylan makes more sense in the fall/winter than spring/summer.)

Pixies - Surfer Rosa(again, with the girlfriend, for getting me into blind melon, I got her into the pixies)

This is great, it's snowing outside now, and I think I'm going to have a nice tea, throw on bleach and enjoy the morning!
  • The Cure - Disintegration (x-mas 1992)
    U2 - Auchtung Baby (x-mas 1992)
    Pearl Jam - Riot Act (x-mas 2002)
    Pearl Jam - Lost Dogs (x-mas 2003)
    My Morning Jacket - Z (x-mas 2006)
Harry Connick Jr. - We Are In Love (x-mas 1992)
    James Taylor - Greatest Hits (x-mas 1992)
Barbara Streisand - A Christmas Album (every x-mas!!)
The Tragically Hip - Yer Favorites (x-mas 2006)
Tchaikovsky - The Nutcracker (every x-mas!!)
Wintersleep - Welcome To The Night Sky (x-mas 2007)

    ooops... that's 11...
