What amps do you play em through ?
Hi Lucy, sorry for the late reply! LOL
Youre close. Left to right: R8, R9,R0 and an R6 laying down. And thanks for the photo compliments!
I play through quite a few different amps, including a Savage blitz, a mesa stilleto, an Uberschall, and a Peters Wolverine.
You can see my others at http://www.charvels.com. Charvels are really my passion!

You guys are so lucky with the number of amps you can get.
I have 5 but each one cost about the same as three of yours.
I have a couple of R9's too. They really are the muts nuts.Music is not a competetion.0 -
I love gibson, I'll just never buy a new gibson. Standing up for the local private owned stores, that gibson continued to put the screws too. I know they are fantastic pieces I just don't want them getting any of my money anymore.E. 2000 LP Studio, jet black w/ gold pickup covers. It was the first real nice musical piece I ever bought. I love it.
I think my favorite one, if I had the cash, would be a 57 Goldtop. I LOVE that guitar.I'll ride the wave where it takes me.0 -
have an old 78 LP Custom in natural finish
and a 73\74 SG Pro that has the bigsby removed and a floydrose style installed.
me like both.
but the SG needs a refret.
doh :(If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?0 -

I hear that. The local store where I bought mine was a big Gibson dealer going back 4-5 years. Something happened, I didn't get all the details, but now they only sell the high end LP's ranging from $3000-$5500.
I'd much rather get my gear from the local store owner and stand up for them. I can't even explain how helpful my local guys have been to me so it sucks when they get the screws put to them.I'll ride the wave where it takes me.0 -

Its an awesome ax, thats for sure.0 -
Yeap, I got a Gibson too.
Love playing it. Been thinking about selling it lately though. I am strapped for cash but damn its hard to part with it now that I have it. :(Driving in my car, smoking a cigar. The only time I'm happy is when I play my guitar.

who's_pearljam? wrote:Well, yup. To tell you the truth, I never really bonded with that thing. I bought them in the 60's so they were just good used guitars then, now look! I just sold both a few years ago. I've played other original ones which were better.
*(Don't tell any owners of original 58 bursts this)* , but I've had 80's Pauls from the alleged "Bad Years" that were just as nice as the legendary "collectors" items. I think they became collectors items because a few people who could play like all hell used them and no one ever could beat them! Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Peter Green, and Mick Taylor. Then Jimmy Page hit the scene and everybody wanted one!
I never liked the fat necks and the tuners on mine wouldn't stay in tune and I never liked tuning all the time on stage. They were all different, and some of the pickups were amazing PAF's and some weren't. THEY ^ Sure had good ones! As well as Duane Allman!
I travelled for a quite a long time and my overall guitars of choice were the SG and a Strat and a Tele.
It's an SG with that cheesy Maestro tremolo on it, too, and crappy tuners, but it always stayed in tune at a gig. So many people couldn't stand those things but it always was there for me.
Yup, me and my SG.
It could've been the biggest tone turd in the country... if you had that Burst today... you'd be close to half a million richer, if it was clean, unmolested and original. There as rare as panda bear these days...
For me... Love LP's... I have an all original '59 TV Model and an '07 R9 Lemonburst:

Haha,,, well, if I had that Burst today, I would be a a half a mil poorer because I wouldn't have sold it!It was a little beat, and the Goldtop was in good shape.
The Goldtop is in California.
The Burst went to Texas and is resting comfortably with a famous fur covered guitar and about a hundred other pieces of guitar history. He did me right. I used the bucks to pay for my cancer treatments and sent most of the leftover to cancer research.
One of my old friends has a just about perfect condition 59 burst that is primo sounding with singing PAF's. (youthinkyou'reold on this board.)
I love opening that case and seeing that thing.
So where are you on the Eastern Shore? I live on the top of the hill in Wilmington and maybe I can see you from my roof!Be kind, man

Bob What Brew house are you working for? Everytime I drink a Dogfish Head I think of you guys. I know they are close but I wasn't sure which one.My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -

Paco! Cheers!
I'm working with Jack at Twin Lakes Brewery. They don't bottle, just keg for right now and stay local in Delaware because they didn't make the brewery big enough! It's on a farm outside of Wilmington, and not really a pub, just make it there unless you come for a tour.
Haha, THEN it'll be a pub when you come by! Nothing like filling a glass from a 750 gallon tank! When he built the place, he installed a big sound system so that the Grateful Dead can properly be blasted whilst making beer.
This has nothing to do with Gibson, except that I did crank up my ES-355 in there when we were waiting for a batch to boil.Gotta keep those guitars properly humidified.

Yup. I forgot to add that. It didn't make it into his book, though. If you've ever seen his book, it's a lot of fun. Cars and guitars that make you drool. I'm not even a car guy and I like that book.
My car and guitar book will be a whole series of things that always needed oil changes and guitars that are just about finished but not quite.Be kind, man

Phenominal, next time we visit her parents I'll make a side trip to Wilmington
Well I'm really glad the one you sold went to Billy G. and that it was enough to cover your treatments.
Oh man am I still jonesing for a big body 335 or 345 with 11's and maybe a varitone. One of these days I'm going to evolve into a respectable blues player. My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -
I just got myself a Vintage Mahogany studio.

Haha, I just had an argument with my 335 about an hour ago. I'm doing a kind of ambient/ psychedelic/ Mazzy Star/ Frippy kind of weird thing with this girl with an amazing cool spacey voice.
I reached for my ES-335 because it sounds great with delay and feedback and I love that thing, but I hopped it up and threw the strap over my neck and the body hit my nose and it bled all over! I've only done that like a thousand times with that guitar.
I guess I have to suffer for my art!Be kind, man
