Very nice - I love the ES-175 - the pickguard looks different, is that original (the shape is fairly unusual).
I've got an older ES-175 too (I think there's a picture of it in the corner of both of my room pics).
I usually tape strings together after the bridge because the older ES-175's tend to get harmonic overtones in
that space between the bridge and tailpiece (or maybe it's just the 175's with the zig-zag trapeze tailpiece).
I also removed the pickguard because I like to see wood (which is why I get a lot of guitars without pickguards).
Plus it looks good like that (I find the pickguard kind of in the way). Also I'm not rocking out with that guitar.

You have no dirt pedals, something needs to be done about that!If idle hands are the devil's workshop, he must not be very productive.

And Nova, I'm still lookin for the right overdrive (note the open space on the board!). I'm gonna try out an OCD this week hopefully.Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. keeponrockin wrote:The pickgaurd was either put on in the early 60s BEFORE my Great Grandfather bought it, or shortly thereafter. He was the king of jerry-rigging things, so either or wouldn't suprise me. My mom and I are going to get one made for my dad at one point (the guitar's in his possession at this point). Every once in a while, I'll take it out and play only that for a week or so.keeponrockin wrote:And Nova, I'm still lookin for the right overdrive (note the open space on the board!). Great choice, probably my next as well - great Robin Trower type tone.

If I see something cool in Seattle, I'm gonna pick it up, but then the Godin's going, so we'll see.
Thanks for the compliments!

Like it's already been said, the Gibson's very cool... but who makes the 12 string you got on the wall, and the acoustic bass you got below it?Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.0 -

The acoustic bass is my brother's and made by a company called Cascade. It's Asian made but sounds really good. It's great sittin around campfires, because now my brother can join in.

Yeah, I've been looking into getting a 12 string... how does it sound?
It's almost a given that whenever I pick up a 12 string I immediately start playing Wish You Were Here... even if I don't want to! My fingers just start moving..Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.0 -
