Yeah, I used to post here quite a lot in the old days when they called it Synergy. Also used to post on GTW (username Guy).
Didn't actually realise there was a gear forum on here!!

Yes sir. That cedar top has such a nice balanced sound... my Yamaha has really muddy lows and overly strong highs, so the switch to the Seagull's sound is amazing. And I actually prefer the flatter, fatter neck over the usual... it's just more comfortable to hold. Go figure. It also looks great for my tastes. :D

One thing though... I put new Martin strings on it, and it sounded great. But when I went back to it later that day the 5th, 4th, and 3rd strings seem to have lost all their "new string resonance." It still sounds great when I strum chords, but individual notes on those strings sound pretty weak, like the strings are really old. I don't know what could have caused it (it was just sitting in its case all day) or if it's just my imagination, but I'm going to get some new strings and see what happens. (EDIT: Nevermind... I put another set of new strings on it, and now it's damn close to perfect. :D)

Yeah, littel necks aren't teh be-all end-all. The BFG has the 50's neck whichis fatter, but it is very comfy toplay, esp for chording etc.
I have always loved Thomastik Plectrum strings. No-one here seems to use em, but they are the shit. Very smooth and bright, wonderful tone, none of em keep their initial tone for long, professionals change em daily.

mustangs are definitely strange guitars. i don't really like it's control layout but it's got a pretty distinctive sound. not a main guitar by any stretch but fun to have around.

i always wanted one so when my son was born, i used him as a thin excuse to buy a guitar and got him one that i'll give him when he's old enough. then i found the lefty sunburst on ebay for a good price and couldn't resist given the rarity of a sunburst lefty.
  • My pedal board at the moment:

    crybaby** - TS-9+ - Greedtone - H20 chorus / analog delay*** - Boss DD6 digital delay - MXR phase 90

** - my poor old crybaby is having some problems.. it seems to be stuck on "on".. no matter how many times I click it, it stays on. What's wrong???

*** - Nice pedal at first, but it seems to have deteriorated over the course of a year.. the delay distorts the sound, the chorus changes the volume level to an often uncomfortable degree, and the entire thing seems to be putting some weird compression on my sound now. I'm thinking of ditching it and getting a nice delay (ibanez maybe) and a good chorus pedal. Not that I need another delay.. the Boss DD6 is amazing.. but I like to have 2 :)

In an ideal situation my Fender Blender wouldn't be broken and would be sitting right after the Greedtone.
