V[ANTIS']i dont get it...you framed a record??? Whats with that?!
1. My ex-wife took my record player and I'm too broke to buy a new one.
2.To keep the plastic from coming off.
3.To show off what is considered a fine collectible.
4. I missed the framing rules memo.
Okay. I don't know how to get the link up here (maybe someone can help me out), but I just added some poster pictures to my photobucket. The album is my username (iampatriot) and the password is pjcanada. The Philly one I just got the frame supplies today and I haven't hung it yet. HOB and Benyora will be getting framed soon. The others I've had a while. Then the photo is one I took driving up the Pacific Coast Highway and it reminds me of a PJ song (name that tune). Then the rest of the pictures are from Halifax and St Johns that I have posted here already (somewhere). Enjoy!
Hey, thanks for the link. How do you make the album public?
When you are logged in, you'll see a link near the top saying "account options". Once there, under the heading "album options", click YES for "make album public".
and Primate - like what you've done with the ticket stubs - might have to borrow that idea!
I type of the set list, and put the ticket stub in a frame with the typed up setlist, and hang them all up in the basement.
E. Lansing-98 Columbus-00,03,10 Detroit-00,03 (1&2),06, 14 Cleveland-03,06,10 Toledo-04, Grand Rapids-04,06 London-05, Toronto-05, Indianapolis 10, East Troy (1&2) 11, Chicago 13, Detroit 14
Here is my collection...hopefully the link works...
Let me know what you think?
You know when I took my fist poster in and they told me to pick out two mattes, and suggested to pick out colors that match the posters most abundent colors, but I thought that would just take away from the poster itself and didn't make any sense to me. So I stuck with black frame, black matte on top then a little white matte. But wow yours look extremely good.

Mine should look similar once I get the acrylic/foamcore, but my frame is a bit thicker. It's so damn sweet and I cannot wait!
No worries, I don't mind a bit. Here are a few others
Only the first two are professionally framed, but the rest are temporarily self framed until I get the money to do them one at a time....and several posters are still in the tubes waiting the frames. The same guy does all my framing so if you need some done let me know, I will hook you up with him..

i did the same with my mad season lp. they make frames specially for lps. cool way to show it off me thinks.
I just finished my London poster. Looks pretty sharp. I've also done Kitchener, and Montreal. They pics are a little low on the resolution, but you get the idea.

Doh! I need to get my Winnipeg, T-Bay, and the Klausen North American 2005 posters framed.
Framed so far I have:
St. Paul '03
Toledo '04
Grand Rapids '04
VFC tour date poster
i need to get some pictures...although getting a digital camera would help.
"I'll do whatever the song dictates - if it doesn't need a real lead, then I won't do one. But if it does, then I'll fuckin' go off." - Mike
"Japan is awesome; the fans there knew all the words to all the songs...at least phonetically." - Stone
"I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version." - EV
Not for that one. I had it professionally done. But I did go with amerian frames for the Vancouver poster. It looks really good. I'll take some pictures of it. I'll probably get some more done too!
this week i went to bring in my st louis 98 poster to be framed- the one with the plane diving down. earlier in this thread someone posted a picture of theirs with a black mat and i thought it looked amazing but when i went to get mine framed the woman said "you know theres no black in the poster, why dont you go with white?" and she showed me what i looked like but i thought it looked kinda shitty since the border of the poster is white and the two whites werent the same, so i opted for the black- she seemed really disappointed in me- what do you think?

Just a suggestion: You might want to make the album public so there's no need for a password.
Edit: The Philly one looks amazing!!
Just updated my photobucket with some newly framed posters (HOB and Benaroya promo). The other pictures are of my sister sporting PJ merch she wore during the NYC marathon and a bunch from St. Johns and a few from Halifax (The ones where Ed has a beer can on top of his head which stayed there for nearly the duration of 'Down').
I will feel....alive....as long as I'm freeeeeeee...

To be honest with you who cares what she thinks right. I mean it's your poster you can do whatever the hell you want with it. If you think black loooks good then go with that. Your the one who is going to have it hanging on your wall not her.

youre a good man- thanks for the support.
i see that a lot of people have the same sized frames for all their posters- but almost all my posters are different sizes, hope it doesnt look stupid- especially cause the st louis 98 one is so much longer than the others.

here's mine. the ones with the ticket stubs were professionally done at a gallery in my hometown. all the other ones i ordered through americanframe.com, except for the yield tour poster, which is a cheapo frame that i cut down to size.

I used to think it was dumb and stupid that all the posters were such odd sizes but the more you get framed the cooler it looks since they are all unique and different in size.
Oh and about the black mat I think you made the right choice.

Dude, it's your money. She gets paid to do a job, not give an opinion. And if she was offering you a white that didn't match the white in the poster, she wasn't doing her job right anyhow. How big of a frame shop was it? You might want to go with a place that has a bigger selection next time. Or, http://www.americanframe.com like others have mentioned. Generally framers are supposed to have an eye for their line of work. But have you ever walked into a place (home, office, store) and observed a series of the ugliest, gaudiest, tackiest frames you've ever seen? Someone had to sell those frames to the person, right?
If it's going on your wall, and you like it, then you made the right decision.

What does your framer mean there's "no black in the poster"? I have the St. Louis '98 poster and it has plenty of black in it. What the hell is she blind? I'd find a new framer if I were you. I'd say your basic goal when framing a poster is to choose a frame/mat combo that doesn't take your focus from the actual poster itself. It obviously should match but when you look at the finished product- the first thing you should see is the poster and not the frame/mat.
American Frame is a really awesome place to get stuff framed- they do mail order BUT if you're located in the Metro Detroit/Toledo OH area- it's worth a trip to their showroom. No shipping charges for me...
There is NO ONE on this message board who can compete with mdgsolo's collection..I seen it with my own eyes...I would put all my money on this one for sure.. I have pics of all his posters I took personally as proof! hahaha..gotcha Matt! hehehe...If he give's me permission,,I will post a few....
I know i can compete with his collection, I have almost every poster pj has ever made.
