I frame all the posters from shows I've attended using the same frame and they always have black top matte with a colored accent matte on the bottom next to the poster!!
I've framed MANY other posters that I just like because the art is INCREDIBLE!!
These are usually Artist Proofs or given to me as gifts by good friends.
I like to step up the frame jobs on these and have used all different frames and matte/fillet combinations on these projects!!
Here's a link to a Photobucket "story" featuring some of my framed posters:

Sad thing is when I'm dead and gone, it will end up in a yard sale with $5 written on masking tape stuck to it. In the mean time, it will be enjoyed by all of my house guests and my dog, Rocket. Not so much enjoyed by my bride....

I just started getting my stuff framed and this is the method that I'm going with. Simple black frame, black top mat, accent color bottom mat, non-glare glass.
I usually only buy posters of shows I attended. Right now I only have two posters of shows I didn't attend - had a couple more but recently sold them (points up^). I won't be buying any more unattended unless there is some sort of personal significance to the art or the show itself (like the two I kept).
But anyway, I like this simple framing style as it will render timeless and will coordinate with almost any room in any house.

That's a very impressive collection! I'll take the Cracker Jack poster off your hands if you don't have room to hang it! ;)

I only have one poster of the shows I've seen framed. I've only been lucky enough to see them 4 times so not a big group to choose from. I don't really like the posters from Denver 98 or the Petty shows in 06. I bought the Klausen but gave it to me niece. Others I have framed are just ones I think are cool. Buffalo, Phoenix and Birmingham 03, Gorge motorcycle jump poster, Boston whale and octopus, NYC pissed off tree and critters, and 2/3 of the 03 bug trio. The latter 5 were or still are hanging in my daughters' room.

Nice! If I end up keeping my Denver 03 from the mystery poster sale I'll have a good idea of how to frame it. And I'm the same boat as you. I bought several posters because I think they look great even though I didn't go to the shows.

Nice collection derbydave! I still don't get all the hate for the Columbus dinosaur poster. I dig it. If we would've had a son, it'd be hanging in his room.

It's just not for me buddy...
I don't mind that others like it,
just not a fan of the theme of this one!!
I still bought it and have it hanging on my wall because I went to this show,
but just not one of my favorites :-bd

It looked like the artist was going for a "graffiti" theme...
so I figured I'd continue that theme and add a few other items
to commemorate the GREAT time I had at the Seattle show!!!

    SWEET...
I just ordered that poster from the 10 Club shop & can't wait to see it in person!!
I've ALMOST run out of wallspace for framed posters, but because this is a horizontal poster,
I have the PERFECT place to hang it!!
