It was really expensive to ship to Canada (like 50 bucks or something which didn't include the possibility of being hit with duty or brokerage fees) so I signed up at kinek.com and got myself a US mailing address. It is free to sign up and you just pay when you pick up somethin $5 per pick up. Then you just drive the stuff over the border yourself.
that is awesome! as is the free shipping from AF. before it was like 13% of your order up to say $500 and 11% thereafter. it could really add up. free is good

I actually very much like it, Im a fan of the ink they used and once I read the article from the artist that explains the images in the poster. It made me enjoy it ever more.

  • any chance you could have a go at suggestions for these if you get chance?
I really want an idea or two before I head to the framers....

Here few suggestions for EV Soto tris

First one is just mat in 3 different shades of blue
and the second one is double wood frame, this inside with colors and black frame
hope you like it, this is what I would do....when I get Providence one that I am missing

    Sototris.jpg

    These suggestions look great.
I really like the double wood frame you've used, I first noticed it when you framed the PJ20 Day2 poster. Where do you find that kind of frame? I've been framing mine through Frames By Mail but they don't offer anything like that.
I also noticed you didn't use a mat with these double wood framed ones but you did with your PJ20.
I realize this is just a mock-up but how do you keep the glass off the print without a mat? I like the idea of no mat because it cuts the size down there for cutting cost. I have the Butterfly print signed & numbered and was anxious to see your suggestions because I can't wait to get it framed.
    Thanks. :D

Any suggestions on how you would frame the variant? Can you insert the variant into the same mat choices to see what it would look like? Would you do something different? Clearly you have a good eye for framing.

    here I made few suggestions

Turns out, my brother accepted a co-op placement for next semester and it just happens to be located a half an hour from the border. He's moving over the holidays and is more than happy to pick up stuff for me. Good timing! :)

A couple of questions: How long does it take to ship? Being in the U.S. for less than 24 hr, did you have to pay duty?

I think I placed the order on a monday, and I got the notice that the package arrivedby the following friday. We spent around 200 bucks including groceries, some beer (including a bottle of Faithfull Ale) and the poster frame (which was worth around $60) but we weren't charged any duty. Even if you are charged duty it would still be lower than the american frame shipping rates to canada. Plus they ship with UPS which almost guarantees you will be hit with a duty charge.

I was just at American Frame yesterday and I thought I saw a sign that said they were running a special for free shipping for a short time. I'm local so I didn't pay much attention, but it might be worth looking into.

I want to display the poster included in the Benaroya Hall box set. I play the records, but keep the poster in the box. I am not sure what frame would suit it. It is not a "graphical" print like the concert poster. It is a picture of the band playing. Here is a link showing what it looks like. Any advice would be appreciated.

My basement is finally almost finished so I was finally able to get them framed. Thankfully my husband likes PJ enough to allow me to put them in his "man cave".

Sorry for the link, I tried to upload them but it kept cutting half the pictures off.

They were offering free shipping and up to 70 percent off on certain framings. I ordered 8 frame kits (no mats) for 368.00 to the door. I would say this helped somebody. Thanks for the heads up as my wife was wondering what to get me for xmas. Another PJ mancave shall soon be complete.
