I was wondering that myself and the only thing I came up with is that this week they will now have clearance to announce shows (since Bonnaroo has been on sale for awhile now) but maybe tickets won't go on sale for about a month. I think they will announce the shows and then tell us to have our memberships in order. Just a thought, could be dead wrong.

They didn't remind to renew before the Ed solo tickets were sold, did they?

Maybe with this tweet, she just knows that we know to get our ducks in a row (i.e. membership up to date) before the mid-week tweet.

No and as a matter of fact, to be eligible for the Ed solo show 10c presale one had to have membership current the DAY BEFORE tim announced the shows

Maybe they have just finalyl realized that we all know what a tweet means.

There really is no need to be reminding us to renew a few days before every announcement seeing as every show will sell out (most in a matter of minutes) anyway.

I agree. I think 10c assumes that will all realize we should make sure our memberships are up to date when a "tweet" alert comes out. Don't the announcements usually give a day or two before the cut-off for eligibility anyways?

You usually had to be current the day before the announcement

it COULD be simply b/c if it's a VFC type of minitour like in 2004....there were NO 10c tix, thus no need for up-to-date memberships. just one of numerous possibilities.

There were 10c tickets in 04 - they were handled via TM - there was no senority.

I think the reason there were no 10c tickets in 2004 was that the VFC tour was organized by move-on.org. I suppose that could be the case again this year but this seems a bit early to be annoucing shows that would likely take place in October.

I've been thinking about this a lot the last couple days and my best guess is a small number of shows surrounding Bonaroo in June.

I can't imagine a 10c member who would see the "tweet" annoucement, realize his/her membership had expired, and decide not to bring it up to date because the "tweet" alert said nothing about updating memberships. It is just assumed.

maybe there doing lolla again, no need to have up to date membership for that.

I agree. It should be the 10c member's responsibility to make sure their membership does not lapse.
  • If you want tickets to any show, regardless if there is a tweet or not, you should always keep up with the renewal of your membership. Plain and simple.

I cry bullshit. Every other organization I belong to sends some sort of reminder that my membership is about to expire. It's called being good for business.

10C is so bush league that it doesn't have a computer system that can email you a reminder a few days ahead of time before your membership expires.

10C also doesn't announce any poster sales, new products, etc on an email. Hell, I consider myself lucky to get a tour announcement. Instead they post "tweet-tweet" messages on this board so that half the members have no fucking clue about what is going on with the band.

And don't get me started about keeping the "whats new" and rumor pit up to date.

Even though I think that people should be on top of their memberships, it's just good business to keep members informed. As someone that has a higher 10c number, I have no problem with people being irresponsible and forgetting ;) . But, I think it's only fair that people receive reminders. People have busy lives, renewing their 10c membership isn't always at the forefront of their agendas.

yes, there was a 10c presale, that is true. i guess i was simply thinking of it b/c 10c didn't actually handle the sale, nor seniority.

anyhoo....i said that was one of numerous possibilities/scenarios. there could be f more festival dates, thus no 10c tix....could be charitable shows...thus no 10 c tix....etc, etc.

    we'll find out wednesday.

also, didn't we just have a big reminder to have memberships up-to-date not all that long ago for some 10c sale of goods? i can't recall now. besides, as many have mentioned.....if a *tweet* doesn't get your attention to check these things in any case....i really don't think we *need* to be told to have memberships up-to-date, but that's just my little ole opinion. it's actually kinda funny to me how we get an announcement that there's going to BE an annoucement. :p

btw - flame me all you like, but i LOVED the whole process of the VFC ticket-buying. 10c presale, thru TM servers = BLISS.

My point is that unless you come to this board daily you have no clue what is going on. Tweet tweet means nothing to you unless you visit.

As for membership reminder from a 10c sale of goods...that is helpful if your membership expires around that time. If it's 6 months later then it's a worthless reminder. Again if you don't check the board tweet won't get your attention.

My membership expired on 3/15 and there was no email reminder. I have been waiting to renew on St. Pats day so I can have my own personal reminder every year.

I am pretty sure I get a reminder before it expires every year - check your Profile settings and make sure you have opted into getting "Product Info" and "News" from the 10C - also make sure your email address is up-to-date.
