So I know all of you asked for Gibson LPs and Marshall Fullstacks and all the high-end stuff you want, but what did you GET for Christmas in the gear bag?

Bagged myself an Epi Valve Jr. combo and I have to say, for the size, it packs a punch and when the volume is cranked, the distortion sounds better than most pedals, including my Fulltone OCD.

  • Ok, it is not a guitar, but I bought my husband an Ovation electric Ukulele ...he already has plenty of guitars so I thought something different would be fun...he seems to love it - already playing some into the wild songs. Such a happy sounding instrument!
  • I got the most useful Guitar related gifts anyone can ask for...

a 10 pack of GHS Boomer 10's, fast fret, some polish and fretboard cleaner, and a gig-tool kit.

    Best gift ever.

A copy of Beauty of the Burst, which is a photographic tribute to the 1959 Sunburst LP, as close as I'm gonna get to one.
A pair of Gibson guitar stools, my wife bought over the net from Nashville, which was pretty cool.
The Heavy Metal Vault CD set, interesting.
    Slash's biography
    Into the Wild soundtrack
    Bought myself Raising Sand

We have a trip to the US coming in a few weeks, so there was no point in paying Oz prices for stuff, when a shop-a-thon is imminent.

I got cash from my family as they all live so far away and i'll be buying another tele. It's a fender lite ash tele in the vintage white. I played one a few weeks ago and it was lust at first sight :), absolutely love the color (gorgeous in real life), the birdseye neck is awesome, really smooth and comfy and the tone is very cool, has the classic tele sound.

    looks like this..

I hope everyone had a great christmas too!

That's a pretty Tele. I wasn't even thinking about Teles but now I'm coveting yours!

There's too much other stuff to buy first. :(

We've been completely broke for 4-months, so we just weren't able to celebrate Xmas this year.
Our parental units just sent me one of these: CLICK HERE - yeah.
Cool, it's almost enough money for me to get one of my amps tuned up.
It's difficult when you have G.A.S. and no $$$$

I can't speak for the Hiwatt, but the Tweed will sound like heaven in fenders. It sounded good in my orange.... GREAT in a vibro king with a casino.

Rarely did I not roll the bass roll off all the way up (clearly I'm a single coil guy) but man... the fender type Jfet circuits.... are brilliant.

  • I only recieved a Fulltone T-shirt! But I won the fantasty football league at work, so something possibly getting built head wise in the near future is quite possible. Probably more around tax season.

  • Nothing guitar related, but I did get cash- some of which I used to buy a toolbox to turn into a pedalboard.

Not really a present, but I bought myself a Hughes & Kettner Statesman Dual EL84 combo amp. The spring reverb isn't working sadly, so getting it sent back on the 10th for repairs, but it sounds sweet.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
