I think he's a phenomenal guitarist... his sound is amazing as well, and to get up on stage with just him and a basic backbeat of drums takes guts and confidence.. but he pulls it off.

The Raconteurs album is one of the best of this year as well.

I just think he's a brilliant musician! :)

just check out The Hardest Button to Button from the Blackpool DVD... fuckin amazin stuff... youtube probably has it.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    agreed

move over rover, let jack take over
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

P.s. Anyone who dares to sing so false on a record and gets away with it in such a brilliant way is a friend of mine!...pure love...

  • I used to think he had amazing tone, which he does on the white stripes albums...but i saw a live DVD of theirs, and his tone was so awful, so dead and bassy....but he is a good guitarist though

He's got a crazy amount of energy on stage that just comes out beautifully in his playing. I saw the White Stripes in Montreal two days after PJ in 2005 and they were amazing. Also saw the Raconteurs back in September, even better in my opinion.

I'd read somewhere that he was doing a White Stripes record next... but you never know!!

I rate the raconteurs album above the White Stripes last one... Get Behind Me Satan.. as i just think its more songy.. GBMS was a bit more eclectic in its structure... still good though!

My favorite Stripes song. I think I could die a happy man if I heard him play this live.
  • I saw him this summer and was 2-3 rows back the entire night. Amazing stuff.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
  • his tone is absolutely horrible these days. Just sounds like absolute mud.

Twould be amazing to see him in a power trio.

Get Behind Me Satan and Icky Thump are my faves. I can't decide between them, but luckily they are completely different moods.
