I'll have to look into the Fender Concert Reverb. 12 watts would be perfect to not piss off neighbors, and 50 watts would be more than enough for any live situation I'm likely to come across and plenty of headroom I'd imagine. The amps overdrive isn't much of a factor for me since I have a Shannon OD and a Keeley BD-2...as long as the amp takes pedals well that's all I need. Thanks for the tip. The Delta Blues has a really nice overdrive but I never use it (thanks to Mr. Shannon).
Not to be a wet blanket - and the Concert Reverb is most centainly a nice amp - but 12 watts will most certainly piss off your neighbours, unless they like really loud guitar, or you live on a farm.
Hard case for the strat ($100)
BD-2 ($80)
More Cables ($20)
A-stand ($15)
Crybaby ($60)
Epiphone Casino (black sunburst + hard case) ($500-$600)
Nice Fender or Marshall tube amp ($800-$1000)
The first few toys will be fun and easy to get, the last few will be more fun but probably not until later next year.
If idle hands are the devil's workshop, he must not be very productive.

i'd go with with a new amp over most of that stuff...plus the BD-2 isn't going to sound as good as it can unless it's plugged in with a tube amp

A tube amp then? I was looking at the Frontman 25 DSP with all the effects, sounds intriguing. It's $200. Frontman 212R has 100W instead of 25 with reverb but no fancy effects or anything like that. Both have good reviews, but they're solid-state. I've got a Roland Cube-15 right now and it works fine for a practice amp. Is the fender Hot Rod Deluxe or Blues Junior my best bet for a tube amp? I'm on a budget so best value works for me.

I'm aware of this, but it's much more manageable and way better than trying to find good tone at reasonable volumes on a straight 40/50 watter. I have a 30 watt right now and haven't gotten evicted yet

My dad is convincing me to buy a 100 Watt tube amp.... I wanna see the look on his face when I crank it.

Wow, uh...that's pretty dumb if you ask me.
Let me just tell you my 40 watt tube Traynor amp at the volume of 6 was rediculously loud for an auditorium of 2000-2500 people.
Dont_Go - did you try out the Concert Reverb yet? It may be hard to find them because they don't make them anymore...A deluxe reverb may be nice as well even though its 22 watts, it's good to practice with in the house but you can play it with the Delta Blues and have an A/B box for when gigging.

Uh huh, said the man who would criticise the cuisine before it's cooked.
Sure it looks like a tonka truck, but, it might be a pretty cool pedal.
I was a fat burner fan for a while, and I still want to try a Wercer Box.
Put Lava Cables on my list of wants. I'm going to have my PB George L's done by them. And then get a new shorter guitar cable with a neutrik silent plug.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
don't get me wrong, it looks like ass, but it sounds awesome. too bad it's only mono but the footprint is right and i'm a sucker for modulated delay of course.
it's going on the list along with a 2nd power supply and another homemade pedalboard.

I've got the day off today so i'm going to head to the store and check some stuff out.
I've never played a deluxe reverb but for just a little bit more cash I could get a Vox AC30 head and send it through my 2x12 cab (V30 & G12H30)...then again volume on a 30 watt Vox might be hard to manage!
I'll see what catches my eye today.

i think we would all do everything we wanted gear wise...i think each of us would have about 25-30 guitars....100 pedals....10 amp heads....10 cabinets....10 combos....and then an amazing studio to record in...god damnit i wish i was rich
edit: oh of course, a gigantic house to crank the amps in

I tracked down a BJF Baby Blue, the guy wants 380$ for it since its discontinued....i wish i had that type of money...
it's just a pedal. totally not worth that kind of money when looked at as an actual tool and not a collector thing.
yeah i know but if I was rich, i would get it
