A kind request to Ten Club
Heya guys, thanks for the christmas single, it looks lovely and I am sure it sounds amazing. Just one problem, I do not have a turntable and I am sure I am not the only TC member in this situation. I would kindly request you would possibly look into releasing mp3's of the Christmas singles to us, the fan club members. This, for you guys would not be a new thing. A FLAC version of Avocado was releases with the purchase of the album through the goods section and of course there are the boots (Still waiting for London boots but hey... whatever).
So I hope maybe you will consider this, and of course I would welcom fellow jammers to reply here and show some support.
Cheers

If you search the forums, you'll find what you seek.
Viva la vinyl!
I'm one of the guilty few who acknowledges that he should have a turntable, is stupid not to have, knows hes missing out on sound quality and the expereince generally, but regardless does nothing about it.
I just know if I start with the vinyl, my habit of collecitng PJ will just spiral out of control.
Sell a PJ/10C limited edition turntable!
Oh, I can hear the praising and the bitching already!
Can't you?

I got on for $30 at a garage sale and it work fine enough
Uhhhh.........
just so you know there are already MP3's of all the christmas singles since christmas singles were released all over the internet
i do know that but i'm one of those people that kinda fancies getting their things legit. not that i am criticisng those that download boots, jsut i would like a really good quality recording. it is just a thought. i mean they record their tracks digitally anyway so i do not see it as being a huge imposition if the christmas single was also a download

Thats an even better deal. If someone did not need to have a new turntable the garage sale/value village/ebay route would be a great way to go. I wonder if the people who don't like the idea of vinyl Christmas Singles really know how cheap it is to get a turn table.
I might also suggest checking to see if you have an older relative who has a turntable gathering dust somewhere. I inherited my grandfather's, for instance. My grandmother was never a music lover, so she was glad to get rid of it.
Don't look at it as just a way to play your Pearl Jam 45's. I've found that most of my current favorite bands release their new albums on vinyl. To tell you the truth I'm not even all that interested in buying PJ LP's. My favorite purchases have been the last couple Wilco albums and The Magnolia Electric Co by Songs: Ohia. In some cases LP's are less expensive than CD's, and new one's often come with digital downloads of the music, or even a physical CD.
Back on topic, I wouldn't mind seeing the 10 Club offer digital downloads to members, but seeing as the mp3's do pop up soon after shipment I'm not too concerned. It's not like I'm planning on listening to "Santa God" on a regular basis.
Edit: I just have to add that after hitting submit I went down to check the mail - guess what was sitting in the mailbox? I guess I will be listening to "Santa God" today after all . . .
Not to mention, if there is a used record store in your area you can pick up LP's from a ton of classic rock bands usually for next to nothing (and a lot of times in decent condition). I have tons of records from bands like Zeppelin and The Who that I found for a couple of bucks each that are all in great condition, and the album art is way better at that size too.
Buy a turntable or small record player. You can get one for a little over $100.00

Absolutely! I just found a really nice copy of Neil Young's Harvest recently. It was a bit expensive at just under $6.00. The store I frequent sells most of their LP's for $3.00, with the stuff in better condition going for somewhere between $5.00 to $10.00. I love going through the bins even when I don't find anything I want.
You can get an exceptionally good turntable for over $100.00. Denon makes a turntable that you can use and enjoy that has exceptional sound, but most importantly, doesn't require you to buy an amplifier or a receiver. Many people don't realize this, and buy a turntable and are unable to hear it on their compact stereo. This turntable is under $150.00, has great sound, and can play on damn near anything.

BTW: I would like to say hello to everyone on the forums. This is my first post, and I'm damn glad to be here!

I have been in the 10 club long enough to remember when the Christmas Single was something special exclusively for 10 club members. Now it seems it is available for download the day it comes out (or earlier), it gets radio play (at least Little Sister and Love Reign O'er me did) and some times it even becomes a CD Single like Last Kiss. I liked it better when it really was a special present for people in the ten club.
they are only $65.00 at the very bottom of the page~!

However, as I give the zine Trading Stories with the Leaves to PJ as a gift (wrapped in pretty paper and bows), I decided that I would keep their gift (I think it's a gift even though it's part of membership blahblahblah). How can I expect to give if I am not willing to receive yadda yadda yadda?
So, I stuffed it in my bag of stuff that will be put somewhere at some time. It's like some people's junk drawers where crayons, paperclips, and screwdrivers reside.
