as a painter i find it APPAULING that photographers have the nerve to charge what they do for something that they can INFINITELY produce from their negatives... i know they gotta make ends meet too... but honestly...
you should get the negatives too for that price so you can make some copies
theres some real nice neil young pics on that site i wish i could afford
We have to pay for equipment. One of my lens' cost $1700. Camera body was $1200 (and thats very low end compared to photogs who are successful). If you want a studio, lighting set ups cost $1000'ssss. Let's not forget rental cost of the studio. Add a few more lenses, maintenance, transporting that gear, the art school loans...
While painters have a lot of labor hours going into their work, we have a high cost on the technical end. Not to mention the hours spent editing to make your customer happy (mostly just for portraits).
But not to stray from the original topic, these photos are absolutely amazing! Kind of makes you wonder what else they're hiding away!

Yeah, you're right. Because it was viewed as an act of grief in the wake of Kurt's death. The Boston '94 show was just days later.
4/11/94...Night #2 of the Boston garden shows..
all the pictures of Mikey appear to be from the 4/10/94 show..
I believe the one picture of Eddie marked the photographers "favorite" was taken while he was singing "Breath" on 4/11/94 for what would be the band's last time in the next four years...

I stopped by at lunch today to check out the photos but they are not up on the walls yet. The gal at the desk said that they are just finishing the run of another photographer (Pattie Boyd...former wife of George Harrison AND Eric Clapton). She hoped to swap out the photos on the wall by this weekend or by next week.

did you tell her there will be a whole bunch of crazy pj fans coming this weekend? i think they will make quite a few sales this weekend....:)
I told her I heard about the show on the Pearl Jam website and that it was advertised as being on display and she didn't know anything about it but she apologized. She was pretty nice. Hopefully, she'll get them up before the weekend, but she told me to check back next week.
