Being a regular on here, or not, in theory should have no effect on what you get.Amantria said:Lost In Ohio said:
Given three Fenway things in two bags, I'm convinced this is rigged. Ha!
Plus, we've seen Dimitris get a baseball and Leeze get a Benaroya Hall record. (Those people deserve those items!)
I'm not SAYING it's rigged, but there's no way it's 100% "Let's throw random stuff into bags and throw shipping labels on random bags."
Ok, so this has been eating at me since early this morning, so I'm just going to put my two cents in so I can get it off my chest.
Its pretty obvious that if you're a forum regular and well known here, you're a pretty big fan.
But being a big fan and being a regular around here are NOT mutually exclusive. I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but I've been a loyal fan since 1993, which is more than 2/3 of my life, but I'm not on here much. I cannot be the minority there.
One would like to think with things like these, you're on an even playing field. Like the old NY Lottery commercials "all you need is a dollar and a dream." I'd hope that everyone has an equal chance at something awesome. This bag cost me close to $120, which is not an insignificant amount of money. THIS is my treat to myself this year. If it's rigged in favor of others that means mine and every other regular person out there has a higher chance of a foam finger and a deep t shirt.
I was lucky enough to be able to buy a bag, and I'm grateful for that, but I'm not gonna lie. The prospect of it being skewed really rained on my parade, and I was really really enjoying the suspense and cheering everyone on as I waited my turn. I'm a nobody here but as Charlie Bucket said, "I've got the same chances as anybody else, haven't I?"
There are a lot, and I mean a lot, of people who are fanclub members who post regularly on FB and are never seen on here except during tour time looking for g.a. tickets. Now if those people end up with rare/special items than that's not fun for the rest of us.
Good luck and I hope we all get what we're looking for.0 -
Kind of where my suspensions are in all of this. I've not recieved any "special" items via 10C. Maybe some day.lexicondevil said:
I think we all do have a chance at getting something really cool. I do also believe that they specifically put special things in for some people. I don't think anyone can deny it wasn't a coincidence that the person who started the Benny reissue thread got a Benny. Don't let it rain on your parade. I've received super meh mystery packages and amazing ones. I got an AP poster for a Fenway show I flew out to and was so happy. I doubt they knew how much I wanted it or even knew who I was. One of my first mystery packages I got colored vinyl version of PJ20 and I was pretty new to the boards, but not new as a fan. Have fun in the anticipation and hopefully fun in the reveal. I don't buy a lottery ticket thinking I am going to win. I buy it to sit and dream about how I would be able to change the lives of my family and friends if I won.Amantria said:Lost In Ohio said:

That said, I've met a few people from here. Some perfect strangers have sent me items free of charge. There has been a lot of good/generosity through people here. That's all rewarding and inspiring in itself."A smart monkey doesn't monkey around with another monkey's monkey" - Darwin's Theory0 -

Same. People I've met & also a few I have not have shown me kindness and generosity. So to me, being part of the community > getting a cool item.darwinstheory said:

I see great willingness to trade and help other people out. I never said otherwise. I dont even know why it stresses me. Maybe because it's been hard times for a while now, and like someone said a few weeks ago, as adults those moments of excitement and hope are becoming more rare. I'll try not to let the rigged/not rigged debate steal my joy. Cause right now this should be the joyful part. My bag could contain anything 👍darwinstheory said:

"I think we all do have a chance at getting something really cool. I do also believe that they specifically put special things in for some people. " Your first two sentences don't make any sense. If they give out special stuff to specific people for posting alot here then we all DO NOT have the same chance to get something special ??? I mean if the Ten Club wants to reward someone then do it privately not in a mystery bag that we all hope to get something special.lexicondevil said:

I have a lot of posts over the years and have never received anything special in the mystery sales. However I have met a lot of great people and was even granted a song request last year.

If your posting history determines what's in your bag I probably should have been missing 3 items0

If anyone received the flannel in XL in their bag and is looking to trade, I did receive a pretty nice Wrigley hoodie in my bag that I would keep but didn’t go to that showPearl Jam

I have had mixed success with mystery boxes in the past, As a fan from Australia, I am just excited to get some merch from shows I wasn't at. To be honest all I really hope for this time round is a beer Koozie
I have bought two small bags knowing I will probably trade the shirts and keep all the rest. The anticipation is the fun part. Good luck to everyone else, I hope we all get something we want. 0
