Here's what would be under my tree.

http://www.kollguitars.com/pages/koll_glides.php Oh man Super Glide Almighty wow.

That and a Trussart Rusty Tele.

So what's your holy grail?
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

I've got the Gibson Custom 58 Jr, its sweet. Especially since I just paid to get it properly setup. Now it sings.

Right now, my grail is a 57 Goldtop!

All i want in (musical) life is a Gibson SG and a Vox tube amp..

that'll do me... no more no less :)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Either a VOX AC30CC2X or one of those new Fender '57 Deluxe Tweed Reissues.

I use the AC30 setting about 90% of the time on my Vox AD30VT. Man, would I love a real one. :)

wait, i'm confused... so she didn't end up buying it for you because you bought the gretsch?

i say get 'em both. you can never have too many.
  • the title of this thread made me think of this:

homer: you're not gonna ask me to pose nude, are you?
photographer: well yes, unless you have some issues with revealing your body.
homer: well i don't, but the block association seems to. they wanted a traditional santa claus!

then i started laughing. then i stopped laughing when i thought about all the guitars i want but can't afford, and i started crying all emo-like. well not really, but...

if i could have any one guitar, it would be an original 1959 stratocaster, just like mike mccready's. one of the best sounding guitars ever built in my opinion. i'd even settle for a masterbuilt '59 stratocaster relic LTD.

i've also recently had my eye on a custom shop classic player strat. i was gonna buy it at some point, but they recently discontinued it. for now, that has become the target of all my attention.

and any of these gibson custom shop models would be alright by me:

    SG Elegant Quilt Top
1957 Les Paul Black Beauty Re-Issue (three pickup configuration with bigsby)
    1960 Les Paul Standard Re-Issue
Les Paul Class 5 Quilt Top
    Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul
    Slash Signature Les Paul
    B.B. King Lucille
    Eric Clapton ES-335
    CS-356
    ES-5 Switchmaster
    L-5 CES
    Citation

i could also use a PRS Custom 24, a Gretsch White Falcon, and a G&L Comanche.

and a record deal. santa claus could bring me one of those if he wanted. but i get full creative control! if santa starts trying to make my creative decisions for me, i'm sending him right back up the chimney!

No, cos I spent the money on teh Gretsch, then cos I had amp dramas, I bought a new Mesa Lonestar, so now I have to WAIT, can you believe it WAIT I SAY, before I can get teh Taylor.
YOu are right, you can't have too many !!!!!

BTW armanHammer, I love your list, maybe I should list everything I really want.

haha, yeah. Gibsons are WAY too heavy for me, plus, I'd be too nervous to bang it up or take it out of the house.

  • By the way, if anyone has a cheap tele they are willing to sell for cheap, lemme know. I could add a couple things to the list...possibly a wireless unit, some cases/gig bags. MAYBE another delay but that's bordering on insane because I already have an amazing amp set up, 18 pedals, and some guiars that I like.

My Gibson never leaves the house, and as for weight, well they do lightweight ones, but there are always armless chairs.
You haven't really had sex til youv'e played a Les Paul.

I played an Epi Les Paul and I felt like the neck was just too fat for me. That was 7 months ago though so maybe my tastes will change eventually.

If I could have anything... *sigh* here we go:

    Guitars:
    Epi Casino
    Gibson SG 61 Reissue
    Gibson ES-335 in blue
Fender American Deluxe HSS Strat (sunburst w/ maple neck)
    Mid-range acoustic (no idea yet)

    Amps:
    Marshall Stack
    Vox AC30
    Extension cab for my traynor

    Pedals:
    Boss DD-20
    Boss NS-2
    Boss LS-2
    Fulltone OCD
    MXR Dynacomp
    Crybaby 535Q
    BBE Sonic Stomp
    BBE Free Fuzz
    some kinda loop station?

    Other Stuff:
    Weber MiniMass
    Mics/stands/digital recorder
    Cases for above guitars
    Lifetime supply of FastFret
Some DR strings (thanks to whoever recommended them, I like 'em)
Security system for the house so nobody steals all the aforementioned gear

Oh, I played a custom made Gibson Les Paul at an outdoor show(Actually, one of the songs I played on it was Jeremy), anyway, the neck was REALLY big and it just weighed me down. I think that if I ever get one, I'd use it as a studio guitar but that's IF

Must have been teh Fifties neck, the sixties are a lot slimmer. They are all much bigger than strats though, I always feel weird holding a strat cos they are so fine. I don't have huge hands, but I am a strapping lad adn the weight doesn't bother me.

I'm not even 100 pounds and like 5'4 so it's pretty big to me, I'm kinda drawfted by a Mustang!

Yes, well I can see how that is a problem. Jeremy is a good song to enjoy the roar of a LP on the neck pup though, so it can't have been all bad !!
Without harping on it, they now have the Les Paul Lite, and the Goddess which is specifically designed for females, of course, but has enough spunk to be used by a guy. SG's are worth a look as well, some of the necks can be chunky there, some are slimmer, haven't played too many though.
It's funny with Strats, I always feel short-changed in the neck dept, but it would be a dull old world if we were all the same.

  • Yeah, I got an Epi- SG special and it'd sound amazing but it's CONSTANTLY out of tune(any ideas on how to remedy that??) I like the Epi Black Beuty too, it's nice on the hands too

I like LPs, but they never sit right on me, where Strats feel right at home.

I want that Cab!!!!.... where did you buy it from?

I saw you sold the HJ but you got an RSA nice!! I always sucked at Math.

The IA standard is gorgeous too.

How do you like (and use) the Stage Hog?

I'd also like to know about the rotary station and the Meathead deluxe. I want a rotary effect, but I've been on the EH wiggler for a while now I think I might stick with it.
