The key question for me is when are they planning the 10, 15 shows?  Does it make sense to get together, rehearse the new guy and mobilise the PJ crew just for a one-off show?  Or use that same prep for a short post-Ohana run in the buildup to the midterms?

He's clearly joking while offering hope the future. 

I don't think he really means that the new guy is in a trial period having a few shows to prove his skills or anything like that.  What is more at stake is the chemistry between the band and the new drummer, that only comes from playing together and takes time.  Ideally it can lead to a new creative momentum for the band or frankly it sometimes doesn't feel quite right and doesn't work out.

not me I don’t like the hats with wide brims I like the old time baseball hats 🧢 Jeff wears those wide ones or trucker hats you can keep them

10-15 shows...the drummer wears a Luchadore mask...if it doesn't work out, no harm no foul. They can all keep their secrets.
