It's something that needs to happen. If Tsurt can't provide this option then it's time to find a new vendor who can. Watching long lines of people reach your merch stands only to be turned away because what they want is sold out is not maximizing profits.
That dude has made PJ a mint. He isn't going anywhere.  As long as people are still lining up for stuff and making the band money it isn't going to change.

Last few tours I did not sit in the merch lines outside, used to love it too.
yeah I have completely skipped merch....feels good

I bought Jeff's shirt here so that was good enough for me. If I have to have something I'll wait awhile and buy it on ebay. Not worth the wait and the stress of finally getting up there and them not having what I waited two hours for. Screw that.
I've found it incredibly liberating... I haven't completely given up, I'll try for a Nashville poster in the shop, but I'm done lining up for merch at destination shows.

Incredibly liberating.  Last time I stood in line for merch was at Fenway 2016.  It almost gives me anxiety thinking about when it is your turn at merch and there are so many damn items (like at the ballpark shows).

And they could/should/would be making more. That's the point. Maximize your profits AND get your aging fanbase out of the streets and the elements. It's win/win.
Aging fanbase also reminds me I twisted my ankle in Pittsburgh walking along the merch line. That wasn't fun.
Save @Shaindli1's ankles with online merch!
On the other hand, apropos aging, I ordered lunch from doordash when I was sitting in the GA line. My eyesight is obviously shit because I clicked twice on something and got delivered two lunches. So my poor eyesight ended up benefitting other people in the line with the extra lunch.
I would watch a documentary of your adventure in Pittsburgh.

I also had a trippy hotel room in Pitts, complete with colorful mood lights and in-room fitness equipment. Also on the Thursday (before N1) I got lost driving in downtown. So comic relief as well.
I can totally see that documentary in my head now. Such a missed opportunity! 🤣

Yeah but he could be making more for them.  Having Tour Merch accessible to everyone online as well as merch at the Shows.
Remember when you could order poster subs for the Tours?

Absolutely. I absolutely hated waiting five hours in line in Raleigh only to not get the things I wanted most. We could be exploring cities, shopping small businesses, sightseeing. Sitting in line all day seemed so stupid to me.

Imagine the day the Tour starts going online and picking all your merch you want ordering it then not having to worry about it again, Unless you think yeah I should've got that jumper and next minute you are online ordering more tour merch. :)

Shop online for Tour Merch and reduce injuries from Merch lines. Sounds good to me. :)

It's stressful trying to think and hurry so someone else can get served but Imagine looking at a web page with it all front of you and just keep adding to that basket. :)  We would all be in Heaven. :)

And the limited items would sell out in .001 seconds to the fastest bots. No thank you.

They would definitely generate more revenue with an online pre-order. That said, costs would likely be higher (more logistical hurdles, more employees to pack orders, etc...) and while an online ordering platform would be better for the fans it's certainly more work for the band. I just don't see them shying away from the current method...TSURT runs the entire operation so the band and 10c have to do very, very little work as it pertains to the at-show merchandising. As much as I'd love it, I just don't ever see it happening.
The Merch for Paul McCartney was normal merch prices they could run it through 10c if it was in the US so they don't need to set anything up. Or they could use a Merchandising Dept like Paul McCartney did in Australia. And they handle everything. It would be such a game changer for Fans all over the World.

Impose strict limits and also don't make it free for all. Make it a 10c membership perk.

It was super filling. No need to eat for the rest of the day. I think the restaurant is called Moodz, for the Pitts locals.

    Glad you enjoyed it!

I don't think there's nearly enough motivation for the band to change things up from this current model.

Expanding the 10C operation & adding to the warehouse staff probably isn't something they're looking to do at this point in their existence.

Things could be reordered, reprinted, restocked. Presales could gauge needed inventory. Limited items needn't be limited.

The Pearl Jam secondary market is a goldmine for flippers because of the scarcity of certain items and the time it takes to acquire them. It doesn't need to be that way. Pearl Jam could be selling more and making more.

I wonder if folks would drop out of collecting if there wasn’t any scarcity to some of it.  Flippers obviously would scale back.  Maybe not since already an ingrained behavior.

They can clear out thousands of posters, shirts, stickers, buttons, tokens, dog leashes, skateboards, whatever else they decide in a couple hours - no picking, packing, shipping, lost packages, damaged posters. It’s just easier this way. Any leftovers get dumped in mystery boxes. Rinse and repeat every few years. It’s an efficient operation

We don’t get seniority, we don’t get a single, we don’t get a t-shirt. I think the occasional tour merch preorder or priority seems like a reasonable trade off. I used to get better tickets with postcards. Now we have less shows and more bot competition. Throw us a bone. I’d pay $45 a year for the ability to not burn a personal day at work to gamble my time in a merch line a half day’s drive away.
