We started out leaving from Indiana to visit brother-in-law and nieces in Charlotte. Attended one of the nieces high school softball game. Spent a few days there.
Next, we made the short drive to Ramada by 10C and spent a few days there enjoying the shows, record stores and breweries. Too bad the rain couldn't hold off a bit more.
From there, we spent two days visiting the New River Gorge National Park area in West Virginia. Maybe not the best National Park, but still a great time. We are on a mission to visit every National Park (23 down!), so to check a new one off and couple it with some Pearl Jam shows. Enjoyed some excellent pizza and cheap beer while there as an added bonus.
After leaving New River Gorge, it was up to the 'Burgh. Time to reconnect with newfound friends and meet new ones prior before walking into 2 more Pittsburgh shows and enjoying the city of Pittsburgh between shows.
Merch was less for us this go around. Poster per show and a skate deck in Raleigh. And a dog leash! I think that was it.
So, we visited with some family, attended 4 PJ shows, met people from the forum for the first time ever and checked off a new National Park. There honestly isn't much more I could have asked for - maybe more mountains and hiking. We had a blast and it didnt feel like a job justifying the funds.
PRICELESS

Luckily I work for an airline so I fly free... tickets, merch and lodging are a different story and I try not to do the math.0

6 shows and hotels by arena in Atlanta and Nashville so pricey but the experiences..friends and memories are worth every penny and time it takes me to pay it off.
These shows are really the only thing I truly do for myself besides Starbucks 😄0 -
In for a penny, in for a pound.
If you can get the show, do it.
If you can travel in the day before, do it.
If you can stay close to the venue, do it.
Make the memories while you can.___________________________________________

Spent 4 days in ATL.
Flights $1200
Hotel $760
Tickets $800
Food $500
Merch $140
Lyft $150
Ouch!0 -
Ninety percent of my money I'll spend on good times, Pearl Jam tickets and concert merch. The other ten percent I'll probably waste.

Not going to add it up. I spent the least that I could to see as many shows as possible. Didn’t spend a ton on merch or booze or meals. Stayed close to the venue when pricing was okay and otherwise commuted a little. Had a max I would spend on a room for a night and was more than happy with cheap and cheerful meals - no need for Michelin restaurants. If it meant switching hotels in the same city or going to the suburbs on the night off, that’s what I did. Flying to west Palm and driving because cheaper than Fort Lauderdale, fine. Taking the Marta to a from the Atlanta airport instead of Ubers, fine, and bonus - lived to tell about it - don’t think I would do that again but it’ll probably never be an issue.I’ll take more shows with less merch and booze and some location sacrifice compared to fewer shows with more expenditures per show. Also avoided any premium tickets and didn’t hold any extras if upgrading.PJ: 2013: London (ON); Buffalo; 2014: Cincinnati; 2016: Sunrise, Miami, Toronto 1-2, Wrigley 2; 2018: London (UK) 1, Milan, Padova, Sea 2, Wrigley 1-2, Fenway 1-2; 2021: SHN, Ohana, Ohana Encore 1-2; 2022: LA 1-2, Phx, Oak 1-2, Fresno, Copenhagen, Hyde Park 1-2; Quebec, Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto; MSG, Camden, Nashville, Louisville, St. Louis, OKC; 2023: St. Paul 1-2, Chicago 1-2; Fort Worth 2; Austin 1-2; 2024: Vancouver 1-2, LV 1-2, LA 1-2, Napa, Barcelona 1-2; Indy; Chicago 1-2; MSG 1-2; Philly 2; Boston 2; Ohana 1-2; 2025: FL 1-2, ATL 1-2, Nash 1-2, Pit 1-2.

It was a lot last year.
I wish a PJ show were a walk away from where I live. It's all planes, trains and automobiles.0 -
