I stopped watching my life long team, the Steelers,  when Aaron Rodgers came aboard. The Giants are the new team America loves to hate now

I do think most of his cabinet, except Hegseth and maybe Miller will be gone by the midterms or just after.

To be replaced by more sewer rats, of course!

    Ben Burgis adbook post

Tulsi Gabbard told a consistent story for a decade about who she was and what she cared about. As many other things as she flip-flopped on, at the core of that story, the goal of her political life was stop the Iran War from happening.

I just don't mean "to stop things *like* the Iran War from happening" (although that too). I mean to stop *this specific war*. When she ran for president in 2020, her merch store literally sold "No War in Iran" t-shirts.

She justified every big splashy reversal she ever made (quitting the DNC to support Bernie in 2016, breaking with Bernie and running for president herself in 2020, endorsing Trump in 2024 and joining his administration) by constantly going back to the core theme of anti-interventionism. We should stop fighting Bush-style wars around the world and, in particular, we shouldn't fight a war in Iran. Over and over again, that was the consistent thread, even if she had to ignore or fudge a LOT to apply that narrative to things like backing Trump in 2024 after all his belligerence during the first term (tearing up the JPCOA, assassinating Soleimani, etc.).

And then the exact thing she'd spent a decade warning about happening actually happened and...she just went along with it! She could have resigned in protest in February, when it might have actually done some good (and it would have at least salvaged the last lingering shred of her dignity) but she decided she liked power more than she liked self-respect, and she kissed the ring and signed off on the war, albeit with manifestly little enthusiasm. Months after making that decision, and thus tying any political future she could have to the mast of die-hard MAGA-ism, Trump decided to fire her anyway.

And let's be clear on that. She was fired. After months and months of reporting about Tulsi being sidelined in the administration, Trump mulling firing her, Trump polling his advisors on whether he should fire her, Trump telling people he wanted her out before the midterms, if you believe she left of her own free will and her only motive was her husband's health, I have a whole series of bridges to sell you.

In other words, she abased herself like she was playing Boar on the Floor in Succession and it bought her...a few extra months?

We want to bring attention to something that happened last month that hasn’t gotten nearly enough coverage.

On April 23, a DHS contractor building Trump’s border wall bulldozed 60 feet of the Las Playas Intaglio a 1,000-year-old fish-shaped geoglyph etched into the desert floor of the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge in Arizona. It is sacred to the Tohono O’odham Nation. The site had been flagged by a cultural protection monitor. Contractors were specifically told to avoid it. The tribe wasn’t notified until five days later.

Destroying a Native American sacred site on federal land is a federal crime. It can carry fines and prison time. The Trump administration waived environmental and cultural protections to speed up wall construction, but those waivers don’t cover this. What happened on April 23 meets the legal threshold for criminal charges. None have been filed. The problem is that prosecution requires DOJ to act, and this DOJ isn’t going to.

    Josh Helfgott adbook post

BREAKING🚨 Trump’s Secretary of Education just went to court to try to unmask alleged child sex abuse victims — and a federal judge had to step in to protect them.

Linda McMahon, Trump’s education chief and longtime WWE executive, is being sued along with her estranged husband Vince over the infamous “ring boy” scandal. The plaintiffs are men who say that, as teenagers in the 1980s and early 1990s, they were recruited to set up wrestling rings and then sexually abused by a WWE ring announcer and other adults around the company.

In court filings, they allege the McMahons knew or should have known what was happening and failed to stop it, helping create and conceal a culture where abuse could flourish. They’re now in their 50s and are suing under Maryland’s expanded Child Victims Act.

Because of the extreme trauma and the high-profile nature of the defendants, the men asked to proceed under pseudonyms — John Doe 1, John Doe 2, and so on. Their lawyers argued that being forced to attach their real names to this case would re-traumatize them, expose them and their families to harassment, and permanently link their identities to some of the most painful experiences of their lives every time someone Googled them.

They noted that the McMahons and WWE already know who they are; anonymity is only about shielding them from the public and the press, not from the defense team.

Linda and Vince McMahon fought that. Their attorneys filed to force the plaintiffs to publicly identify themselves, claiming that anonymity made it harder to defend the case and unfairly damaged their reputations. In other words: if you want to accuse us, you have to stand in the floodlights with your full name — even if you were a child when the abuse allegedly happened, and even if you’re up against some of the most powerful people in wrestling and politics.

This month, U.S. District Judge James K. Bredar said no. In a detailed ruling, he found that the subject matter — alleged child sexual abuse — is “particularly sensitive and personal even beyond other allegations of sexual abuse,” and that forcing the men to be named posed a serious risk of psychological harm and re-traumatization.

He ruled that the plaintiffs can remain John Does at least through the pretrial phase. The McMahons still have their identities for discovery and depositions, but they are barred from leaking those names to the media or anyone who doesn’t need them to participate in the case.

That’s not all Judge Bredar has said about this lawsuit. In an earlier decision, he rejected attempts to toss the case outright, saying the men had “plausibly pled” that Vince and Linda McMahon knew about the abuse, had “relevant knowledge at the relevant times,” and could and should have taken action to prevent it.

The McMahons deny all allegations, but a federal judge has already ruled that the claims are serious enough — and grounded enough — to move forward.

So step back and look at the optics. The person Trump put in charge of America’s public schools — the cabinet official whose job is supposedly to protect children — went into court trying to rip away anonymity from alleged child sex abuse survivors so they’d have to out themselves in public.

It took a federal judge to say that, no, the balance of power here is already tilted enough.

These men say they were exploited as kids by adults who saw them as disposable props in a billion-dollar spectacle.

Now, decades later, the same power structure tried to force them to choose between their privacy and their chance at justice.

The judge’s ruling is a small but crucial line in the sand: children’s safety and survivors’ dignity come before the image management of wealthy political appointees.

And it’s yet another reminder that when we talk about who runs our schools — and who this administration thinks deserves protection — we should be paying very close attention to what they do when the cameras are off and the courtroom doors close.

If you appreciate my posts, it would mean the world if you followed my page. Thank you for being here.

My though exactly.  What percentage of the poor fucks who voted for the clown would be able to afford to hang on to a $250 bill?  But they will never admit it, even as their lives continue to spiral down the toilet.

plus, if they really like him, they will keep that $250 bill and not spend it. personally just give me 5 fifties and be done with it.

And some poor suckers would fall for it.
Which raises the question- how badly abused does the average Trump support have to before they finally walk away?  He's done the exact opposite of what he has promised to his minions, and yet millions still worship him.  I'll never understand cult behavior.

He’s probably trying to get a bill changed for that, or maybe there’s a different stipulation for commemorative currency?  I don’t know, but I know he looks dumb as fuck in this picture (thanks to the aptly named Bonnie Cash at Getty Images). Think it’s time for an Alfred E. Neuman remake.
