I was thinking about that sentence in bold this evening when I read H.C.R.'s letter.
Sadly, I can picture the unraveling happening (in fact, will be very pleasantly surprised if it doesn't happen).  Because it happened to me for about half of the 1990's decade, I know what it's like to live a life that has unraveled.  That was tough enough as it was.  But to live through a period of time when all but the very wealthiest people become lives that have unraveled?  That does no bode well.
And I'm not saying we should all throw up our hands and go full-on doom predicting, or bury our heads in the sand.  It makes more sense to keep the danger in the spotlight.  Massive numbers of people not wishing to slide into chaos can creative some very positive energy.  That's much of how the catastrophe of Vietnam in the late 60s to early 70s ended.  Massive energy helped put that to an end.

I decided to watch Fox news yesterday to see what they would have to say about Greenland and Minnesota.

Minnesota was an eye opener.  The reporting from NBC to Fox is literally night and day.  NBC chooses to show the chaos with no mention of why ICE is there.  FOX chose to play footage of ICE higherups explaining why they are there. I didn't care for the FOX pundits name calling people that are further left than they are.
So somewhere in between I would guess there is some truth to both reporting agencies?

Greenland.  The whole news station sans one person, I don't recall his name, were all in agreement with the President and his willingness to acquire Greenland.  The one outlier spoke like a normal person would and seem to understand world politics rather than the echo chamber the rest of the pundits.

The lack of foresight from the reporters/personalities on the repercussions and the other world leaders that are condemning the idea of the US obtaining Greenland was truly unbelievable.

It does make sense to watch/listen to multiple news sources.  The different points of view are staggering.

Fox is not a news source. It’s a propaganda machine meant to placate the orange one.

All american news is biased, but fox is off the charts.

exactly....the nightly news used to be decent. After they booted Shepard Smith I can't say I even know who the anchor is. There is a reason why Smith is gone....he was too centrist.

Fox news is 100% state media, like they have in Russia and China, et al. The only reason it makes sense to watch it is to remind yourself how far gone the US government is.

I liked Smith.  I was shocked he was on the evening news.  He was actually good, nothing like the pundits.

Def entertainment and pundits.  I was still interested in the interviews of ICE officials that I haven't seen anywhere else.

The amount of bootlicking is unmistakable.

I really don't understand why Meet the Press and This Week have any reps from the trump admin on. They don't answer questions...their responses are attacks on Biden and pushing trump's greatness. It's fucking sickening.

Reince Priebus is always on the panel on This Week and is a complete fucking bootlicker. I can't imagine that he isn't on the trump payroll but supposedly he couldn't be on the panel if he was.

i wish this country had someone like a baseball manager or something. someone that can go out to trump on the mound and just take the ball from him and call someone in from the bullpen before the game gets even more out of hand.

the cabinet is supposed to do this via 25th, but there is nobody brave enough. pathetic, groveling, sycophants.
