Yet another level or layer of depravity in this bullshitNew: In 2010, an undocumented farmworker from Mexico received a misdemeanor citation for leaving his two young kids alone to buy them pajamas at Walmart. The Trump administration says this now merits deportation in a potentially wide-reaching court case. https://propub.li/4rT1Jbn_____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

“I started screaming with everything I had, because I couldn’t even breathe,” 16-year-old Arnoldo Bazan told ProPublica, showing where the agent’s hands had closed around his throat. “I felt like I was going to pass out and die.”

Instead of putting former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández up at a hotel near his prison for $69/night, officials activated a four-man team to drive him to a posh NYC hotel where rooms cost more than $1,000/night, though his lawyer said the government didn’t pay the bill.

i'm honestly surprised trump did not have him put up in a trump hotel at quadruple the rate and bill the government for it.mickeyrat said:Instead of putting former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández up at a hotel near his prison for $69/night, officials activated a four-man team to drive him to a posh NYC hotel where rooms cost more than $1,000/night, though his lawyer said the government didn’t pay the bill.

I flew into Miami this afternoon, picked up my rental, and have hit 3 breweries in Oakland Park (Ft. Lauderdale).
At every stop I have heard fluent spanish. From employees, owners, and guests.
So very refreshing.

You're in Florida. It's been like that for years. I can take you to places in the Bronx and same thing.Bentleyspop said:I flew into Miami this afternoon, picked up my rental, and have hit 3 breweries in Oakland Park (Ft. Lauderdale).

Take it all in, quite the contrast to life in Colorado. For all its natural beauty, it sure does lack in widespread cultural diversity. If commonly hearing fluent Spanish is considered a very refreshing experience for you, California and Texas would probably blow your mind. They both have plenty of breweries too, and if you ever tire of seeking out and supporting an overwhelmingly white-owned industry during your travels, you'll never be too far from an authentic taqueria. Pairing tacos al pastor with a Negra Modelo...now that's refreshing!Bentleyspop said:I flew into Miami this afternoon, picked up my rental, and have hit 3 breweries in Oakland Park (Ft. Lauderdale).

I travel a lot. Unlike a lot of Americans I seek out places and people off the beaten path. No national chains, no big box restaurants/stores.FiveBelow said:

I'm used to the lack of diversity I deal with on the Front Range. If I want immediate cultural diversity I head down Federal to S. Denver.

From my experience Miami is almost exclusively Spanish! I didn’t have an uber driver that spoke English at all reallyBentleyspop said:I flew into Miami this afternoon, picked up my rental, and have hit 3 breweries in Oakland Park (Ft. Lauderdale).

Spend some time walking through South Beach, Brickell, Aventura, etc and you hear accents and languages from all over the world.
Just yesterday I talked with a woman from Slovakia and a couple from Italy.0 -
I guess I take it for granted. You can walk one block in Brooklyn and hear a minimum of 4 different languages.Bentleyspop said:
