I have no faith in the courts because SCOTUS has been compromised and COOTWH is ignoring court orders with no consequences. Sheriff Joe or Maricopa County went to jail and paid up. That is not happening here. Sheriff Joe was a known, elected official and those carrying out his orders were unmasked sheriffs and employees of the county. Who the fuck are these masked, armed individuals snatching people off the street? What are their credentials, badge numbers, training and experience and where did they come from, if on loan from another law enforcement agency? Where’s the accountability to those who are paying their salaries and apparent bonuses, the taxpayers?
This shit is the dark hole of authoritarianism that we’re swirling down and it seems most are ignorant to it or, more likely, agree with it because “white privilege.” IMHO.
I feel like Americans, for the most part (not you), are still in a pretty serious state of denial about what is happening. I'm not participating very much in all of these very interesting discussions. The reason for that is I simply don't have the energy to say what I want to say (i've got some medical and other shit to deal with, and have to minimize my stress). ”Facing lawsuits” is different than losing in court or ignoring court orders. I have no faith in the courts because SCOTUS has been compromised and COOTWH is ignoring court orders with no consequences. Sheriff Joe or Maricopa County went to jail and paid up. That is not happening here. Sheriff Joe was a known, elected official and those carrying out his orders were unmasked sheriffs and employees of the county. Who the fuck are these masked, armed individuals snatching people off the street? What are their credentials, badge numbers, training and experience and where did they come from, if on loan from another law enforcement agency? Where’s the accountability to those who are paying their salaries and apparent bonuses, the taxpayers?
This shit is the dark hole of authoritarianism that we’re swirling down and it seems most are ignorant to it or, more likely, agree with it because “white privilege.” IMHO.
I feel like Americans, for the most part (not you), are still in a pretty serious state of denial about what is happening. I'm not participating very much in all of these very interesting discussions. The reason for that is I simply don't have the energy to say what I want to say (i've got some medical and other shit to deal with, and have to minimize my stress). I do find that a good place to go to see healthy and apt discussions about everything that is happening right now is The Bulwark via YouTube.
