Last year I read an article with pictures about the old Penn Station. It's criminal that they were allowed to tear that place down. It should definitely be brought back, with similar architecture.

They literally FINALLY just finished Penn Station, built up the old post office, and oh by the way put $1B into MSG 10 years ago. That Hotel Penn area they knocked down doesn’t seem big enough

If PJ pulled a spectrum at msg, I would be in debt for the rest of my life 🤣
With the new Hudson Tunnel project they need more room. Plus the commuter experience is atrocious in the present space.  That station is awful.
Is this a thing? And no direct airport access? I have traveled all over the world and NYC has the worst airport transportation. By far. There should be direct trains to JFK, LGA and Newark. Closing MSG? Have to include Bob Weir in that conversation.

It’s definitely a thing.  It’s the busiest train station in the country. The project will double the number of passenger trains into the city which is badly needed with 200,000 people coming into the city on the Northeast Corridor everyday.  Getting to the airport is a hassle though.  But you can get a direct train to Newark Liberty.

Having taken the train from Manhattan to Newark on many occasions I can assure you it exists. And many NYers on here will back me up

But you have to switch in Seacusas? Correct? Or go to Metro and take a shuttle? Compared to other cities there is no airport express train that drops you off at the airport. Particularly JFK. One of the largest airports in the world, with no direct train access unless you go to Jamaica Queens. Compared to other cities it is comical.

NJ Transit train goes directly to Newark Liberty.  There’s a train like every 20 minutes.

"If " this gets approved it would be years before they tear down the Garden as they would have to build the new arena across the street first. And this is New York building anything takes years and most of the people and bands named would probably like me be dead by then.

We'll just get PJ to close down whatever the arena is the Flyers & Sixers play in, and won zero championships. (I'm assuming they won't get any the rest of this decade.)

Yep. Billy Joel is already falling down during his shows.  I don't imagine he'll be in prime headlining form if and when the Garden goes bye bye.

He could Pull a Phil Collins and perform from a chair?
