What's the shortest turnaround PJ has had for a surprise show announcement & show time?

McCartney just dropped this around noon time for NYC (AND Jack White is playing down the street).

Love how it's being executed - no advance sales, box office only. 10C only would work too, ala The Vic.

    The only time I have ever paid $300+ for ticket was Paul at MSG. Worth every penny.

    I figured. I have a friend who works in the bar industry and knows tons of people who run these venues. I just sent him a text to see if he knows anyone there who could get us in.

    I say show up, all black clothes. Simple top, pants & shoes. Grab a tray, put two drinks (beers?) on it, with napkins. Your friend gets someone to open the back door, walk in & ditch the tray😂like a Columbo set-up

    I wish they'd do it but if it's in person only obviously only locals would get lucky.
    Maybe if 10C distributed tickets to whoever wanted them no matter where they are located - and you could only ask for a single ticket, no hoarding.

    I know a bartender at the Bowery. He usually gets me in to most shows there, he told me do not even try dude. VIPS and a few lucky fans.

    My friend knows the owner of the Bowery. But he said he doesn't want to bother him. I told him to bother him, the worst he could say is no - but I don't know their relationship so I respect whatever he decides to do.

    It was frustrating, but such a thrill trying to buy ten club tickets back then on the Pearl Jam site.

    According to someone on the Paul McCartney subreddit, in addition to tge tickets security also handed out bracelets to those who managed to score tickets so no resell/scalping.

    I looked up the fan views last night, and well well well you were one of the reviewers. Super jealous. I remember I was in the middle of packing up all my stuff for my first year of college and sat on my laptop to get tickets. Then started mapping out a roadtrip to Chicago to try to get in, which I didn’t. I remember people on here saying tickets were being scalped for $500. In 2025 I would do that in a heartbeat. What a show

    I already had Lolla tickets, flight, hotels etc. No way I could make that Vic show. But still a great weekend in Chicago. I loved when Ed played with the Kings.

    Not quite a pop up but the astoria and SBE shows in London were both pretty short notice and small venues

    I tried to manifest one at the 2012 SiriusXM Town Hall.  I made sure my friend and I were in the last group to take our picture.  Ed put his arms around our shoulders.  After photo I asked him:

    "So Ed, where's the secret show tonite?  You're all here, in Studio X with instruments?"

    Ed: "Ummm, ummm, I uh, I uh, I got a dentist appt in the morning, yeah...a dentist appt"

    And he was gone in a flash

    We did get autographed Lightning Bolts CDs, so I've got that going for me...
