For anyone who is keeping them sealed. A word of warning, I know of at least two people who popped open their vinyl and it was missing one of the LPs.  There will always be a weight check on these.
His eminence has yet to show.

Oh no, that’s awful. Was it a specific variant?

One was a 10C variant, not sure about the other but it was not 10C.

New exclusive vinyl: grunge supergroup Mad Season's 'Above' 30th anniversary edition

Mad Season, the short-lived mid-’90s Seattle grunge supergroup of Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley, Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin, and bassist John Baker Saunders, only made one album together, 1995’s Above, which returned to vinyl earlier this year for its 30th anniversary. We now have a new exclusive black vinyl pressing of the 30th anniversary edition of Above available now in the BV shop.

The 30th anniversary edition features the five bonus tracks from the 2013 deluxe reissue, including three songs with Barrett’s Screaming Trees bandmate Mark Lanegan and a cover of John Lennon’s “I Don’t Want To Be a Soldier” with vocals from Layne, and it was mastered for vinyl with lacquers cut by Levi Seitz (Pearl Jam). It has art restored from ’95 with the original cover, inside gatefold, back photo, and center labels, plus a new 20-page 12×12 booklet featuring new liner notes from McCready and Martin, additional photos, and song lyrics. Pick up yours HERE, along with more grunge vinyl.

Hi folks, this is me in the control room of my studio holding the 30th anniversary double LPs of Mad Season's "Above." They are finally being received around the world, and I've been tagged in countless photos showing their arrival (Mike too). I particularly like the special edition black velvet cover - Layne, Baker, and Mark would have loved that touch, but it wasn't really an option back in 1995. The new packaging is back to Layne's original artwork with Baker's design, and an expanded booklet that Mike I added some stories to as we reflected on 30 years. I think there are copies still available in record stores around the world, and maybe you can still order it online too. I've worked on about 200 albums since we made "Above," and some of those albums are now considered classics. But none of them compare to the fiery, transcendent magic of Mad Season. I'm still so proud of this album, which we made when Mike, Layne, and I were only 27 years old! Baker was a whopping 39 - that seems so young to me now! Anyway, I know I speak for everyone in the band, and all those who worked on the album - let's not forget the mighty Skerik on saxophone, and producer Brett Eliason - that we are all so grateful for your love and support over these many, many years. We thank you, and we love you. -Barrett

I managed to snag one of the black velvet cover variants off the Revolver website late Friday night. Actually got shipping information for it today. So doesn’t hurt to keep checking their website if you’re looking for one. It currently shows sold out, but the listing is still up.
