The difference is that the lion's share of fans who go to see Billy Strings or the Dead are people who got into those acts because of their musical adventurousness and eclectic live shows. Pearl Jam has a good number of fans like that, too, but most people who go to a Pearl Jam show are casual fans who either know the eight songs that get played on the radio or who owned one or more of the first three albums, and who aren't expecting to see an evening full of deep cuts.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Funny how last night I was listening to Albany 2006 (again) and Ed observed that the audience is made up of "normal" people (what you called here casual) and the "freaks" who want to hear that song they never played. He went on to say when he was growing up he was worried he'd end up "normal" and that being a freak is the highest compliment. 😉

The difference I see between PJ & Billy is that he’s still blossoming as opposed to PJ who are well established and polished! At this juncture Billy is just more organic

I'm trying to get tickets to one of the shows in Cary, but on his website it says sold out and the shows don't even show up on ticketmaster. Am I missing something? Is stubhub really my only option?
Appeared to be an animal, yet so polite.

Looks like those shows were sold through etix, not ticketmaster. But yeah as of now regular tickets are sold out so resale is your only option. If you can wait until closer to the show, often they’ll release more a week or so before.

Okay, thanks for the info, I've never even heard of etix.

Ditto what @JD87070 said. Defo wait closer to the show and even if add'l tix aren't dropped you should see an influx of them on the secondary market. Unless it's one of his Halloween/New Year's/special occasion shows prices should drop closer to show day. On more than one occasion I've bought tix to a Billy show on day of the show and was able to scoop them at a reasonably fair price.
