Early entry seems like a tough logistical ask for a fest of this size and do you really need a 10C sale?
No. But it would be nice if there was at least early entry for GA. I get it for festivals, but it would be nice if there was some nod to the 10C.
I can't see that being a good idea. The idea of a festival is it sits outside these things -- offering preferential treatment for fans of one of the headliners seems antithetical to that. JazzFest doesn't and shouldn't care about your 10C status.
Plus, isn't it rare that festivals have such for their fan groups?
Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"
Damn I saw the event poster and nearly shit myself. It was a must buy. So many insanely awesome acts. I just now came onto the pj site and realized it’s broken up into two weekends. Not sure anymore, I’ll have to think about it
Definitely makes a big difference. If DMB and PJ were playing the same weekend, especially back to back nights, it would be a no-brainer for me. But as is, no way i could pull it off. Lots of other good lower tier bands, but those are the only two headliners i’m even remotely interested in. And not worth traveling that far (from Michigan) just for one day of the fest.
Plus you know it'll be filled with Dark Matter and 90s radio hits, being a festival. If anyone's looking for the deep cuts, this won't be the place.

Not sure this is the case. New Orleans is a very Vitaology rich city. Eddie knows that. The last 2 times they've played Jazzfest in 2010 and 2016 saw Vitalogy-heavy setlists and songs that were being rarely played at the time:
-State of Love & Trust opened JF in 2016. Last time that happened before this? 1992. - 2010's show opener was "So You Want To Be A Rock N' Roll Star" into Lukin..... -Arms Aloft, God's Dice, In Hiding were played for the first time on the 2016 run at the JF show even though it was the 8th show on the tour. - Corduroy, Nothingman, and Better Man were played at both shows. Parts or some parts of each of those songs were recorded in NOLA. - 2016's show got the 4th to last Of The Earth... meaning, they aren't afraid to play WHATEVER they want at this festival. -Tremor Christ was played in 2010. - 2016's JF show got a mid day Long Road at like 6pm in the afternoon as the sun was going down. Where else could you get that? - 2010 had 23 different songs played, and 2016 had 25 different songs played. Both of those numbers are an above average length for a PJ set in 2024.
When the band played Voodoo Fest in 2013, Steve Gleason wrote a Setlist for Eddie.
Sure, the setlist will probably be super Dark Matter heavy. But there will be zero visuals behind the band for all who complained about that last year. It will literally just be a banner, and the band so you can actually focus on the music. Like this:

Outside of what things? When you book Pearl Jam you get the 10C. Nothing antithetical about that and why they get big dollars to headline. The 10C fans buy tickets, merch, travels, and shows up. It has been the recipe for success for many years. Let them in early. I guess with no 10C sales it might be impossible to administer. They will probably line up way before all the casual Jazz Fest attendees anyway.
Does anyone know if they will sell single day tickets? If I took the plane trip down, I’d only want to go their day and get back home.
Yes - "at a later date"
Will go sale in a few weeks. They will be around $90 a day and have early bird specials on price levels. Goes up $5 every month or so.
and inventory will depend on how many weekend passes they sell.

"outside these things" meaning I've never seen, or expected, a festival to offer preferential treatment to fans of only one of the many bands performing. That would feel strange to me. Whatever -- we don't need to argue about it because it's irrelevant...10C are, expectedly, not being given any additional privileges.

For people that have been before, regarding Jazz Fest itself…never been to NOLA, is Jazz Fest a good time to go or is it too crazy busy to really enjoy French Qtr and all?
We got engaged in the French Quarter the night before Jazz Fest 2010. 15 years later we return!

My first real trip with my then girlfriend was to Pearl jam in New Orleans in July 1995. The show was canceled, and I couldn't get back for the make up date.
They have not typically sold single day VIP tickets. And heads up that singe day passes do NOT give you re-entry (like VIP does).

PJ would return to NOLA for the 3rd time in less than a year on the tail end of the 1992 Lollapalooza summer tour, around 4 months and some change after their sold out show at Tipitinas.
Not much is known about this show, except the setlist which is odd. I cannot find a single photo, video, or picture of a setlist from any of the bands that performed that day. Five Horizons and Live Footsteps just list the setlist, but no other information at all. I guess NOLA was living in the moment.
The "claimed" setlist is as follows:
1. Why Go
2. Even Flow
3. Jeremy
4. Deep
5. Alive
6. Porch
7. Garden
8. Baba O'Riley
Which seemed to be a common setlist for the time.
The venue for this edition of Lolla was right outside the UNO Lakefront Arena in the parking lots surrounding the building. A little wild, as a year and a few months later, Pearl Jam would not only play, but sell out 3 nights inside that same arena in late 1993.
(this picture is from a different smaller festival that still takes place outside UNO)
From here, PJ would play Houston, Dallas, and Phoenix. 5 days later they'd perform Jeremy on the 1992 edition of the MTV Video Music Awards. They had just hit the heights of their popularity and somehow hit the small market of New Orleans 3 times in less than a year!
If you were at this show and have ANYTHING: thoughts, pictures, SOMETHING share with us please!
