    What doesn't make me cry?

But if the band wants to guarantee the waterworks here, they should play Immortality. Sobbing guaranteed.

Welcome to the club of people who are unable to articulate certain thoughts and feelings, and rely on the band's music to meaningfully experience those thoughts and feelings. I am jealous - I'd love to be able to go to my first show again.

I've teared up or had them streaming down my face multiple times during shows: hearing Release during the encore at Bonnaroo with my dad, them opening with Long Road in Toronto, and the opening notes of Pendulum in St. Paul right after they walked on stage (probably others that I'm not thinking of as well). I also have had tears running down my face when we saw Phil Collins a handful of years ago, which was completely unexpected that his songs would hit me so hard. So don't worry at all about being emotional during the show.

Enjoy your first show. My first was when I was in high school in 1996 and I was a fan (had Vs on cassette/knew the radio songs) but wasn't nearly a diehard until after so I didn't know a lot of the songs that were played that night. Going in having been a long time fan would be awesome.

Give us your setlists, man. If you could write one, or both, what would you throw on? Make it 24-26 songs ea. Share away!

I can't.  I started typing and then erased it. I cannot express it in words, I don't know how. I am a grown man, been a fan since I was 10. This is ridiculous.

Some may say I am not as big a fan as those that have seen them live 5, 10, 50 times because I have never seen them live, but I am. I have not been loyal to the 10c. In fact the first time I ever joined was a few years ago when my wife surprised me with a year subscription and got me a shirt and a bunch of stickers.

Something told me to reup my subscription this past September, I don't know what or why, but I did. I am so glad I did. I was able to get tickets through the 10c for the upcoming Raleigh, NC show and this will be my first time to ever see them live and I cannot put in words how excited I am. I am going to share this experience with my Wife and again on the second night with my Wife and my Son. The seats are not the greatest but I really don't care. I don't know if I believe in fate or not but whatever got me to this point I'm grateful.

I used to be able to articulate feelings and emotions in words better when I was younger, I guess I'm just getting old or something, idk. I hope I don't get emotional at the show, because I basically did writing this.  I want to just delete this post but fuck it, I'm going to send it.
Wait until the arena is all abuzz, the piano music is playing away, then the lights go down……. Truly hair-raising, one of  best feelings you can have on this planet…….

It’s always communal, and sometimes it’s spiritual.

    Thanks for sharing, OP!

Saw them in August 1993. My 2nd show wasn't until 2003 in Fargo. When Ed started in on Arc, I fucking lost it. I just started bawling.

Fast forward to 2014 in St Paul. Pendulum -> Release opener. I always thought Oceans was the only Ten track I hadn't seen live (didn't keep track back then). But my heart knew. As soon as they started in on Release, I started weeping openly.

It's all good.  I remember my first PJ show.  If you get emotional, let it flow.  Enjoy the shows, excited for you and your family.

^^^ I think this expresses you admiration just fine.  Being at a loss for words can be the highest compliment for something you love.

A lot of us feel this way dude. I was a huge fan since the beginning, but only saw my first show in 2005. My next was 2013. Both London, Ontario shows. That’s officially when my addiction took hold. Started making more money at work which made it easier. Pittsburg shows with be my 14 and 15th shows. Release is special for me. Seeing Eddie in London 2013 and getting a 2012 uke pick also started my obsession with pearl jam pick collecting.
