You are not alone in these feelings, as I'm sure others have similar thoughts about this truly amazing band. I've been a fan since VS hooked me in 93, and when I was at the LA shows this year, seeing them perform Go, Leash, Daughter, and RVM, it really hit me. It's 2024, and that same band that I loved when I was 11 years old, is still rocking and performing these amazing songs that I cherish, while I'm now in my 40s.
In addition to that, Dark Matter came out of the blue, and is a stellar album, in a collection that already includes several stellar albums. I have not had this same experience with other bands. I am very grateful, and even though we pay for the music and concerts, it feels to me that the value Pearl Jam has given is greater than the money that we spent.
Welcome to 10c. We all love PJ as much as you do and we’re happy YOU are here with us!! you are going to absolutely FALL HARD for PJ live! They are so fuckin amazing live, all the feels and all the 90s angst rolled into one amazing band. Have a fantastic first (of many to come!) show!!! 🤘🤘💜
I have been a fan from the start and been to many shows, never thought it made me a bigger fan than someone who loves the band but has never seen them, just more fortunate.
Just be prepared for an addiction once you have been to your first show 😀

Awesome. You are going to have so much fun, that is great. Nobody is a bigger fan of the band or music just because they have seen them live more than someone else - it is music and for the individual to do with as they wish. Viewing together is bumping into a lot of other people who are passionate about the band, and that is all sorts of fun. You will no doubt become one of those fans that rejoice in the opportunity to see them play live again and again!
I cry/get emotional every time I hear them. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never seen them or how many times, music was meant to convey feelings. How many songs have you loved but never saw the artist(s) live?
Get emotional at the show! Who doesn’t??? It will be an experience that you will never forget and it will give you a sense of calm and that all will be fine.
Don’t forget to get back to us…..would love to hear your thoughts after you attend.
I guarantee you’d be a lot more fun to talk about and experience a show with than someone who’s since them dozens of times. Emote and rock the fuck out! And definitely provide a recap for us to live vicariously through you.

Awesome... welcome back, and congrats on scoring the tickets.
RE: expressing in words how much they mean to you.... it's not uncommon for me to tear up hearing Long Road, or Off He Goes, or a few others when played live... I get it. It's a wonderful thing.
Have a blast in Raleigh but be warned... you're going to want more.
Long Road into Release to open PHX '13. I had people looking and pointing at me. Sometimes emotions are overwhelming.

This…..I love watching first timers. Their emotion is raw and authentic.
I am also trying very hard to articulate what this band means to me, especially nowadays, when I'm not doing well in general. It's not easy to do.
I wish you peace and a favorable conclusion to whatever is going on, what you’re going through. When I’m not doing great their sad songs always hit a nerve in some way. If we can help, everyone here is pretty great about sharing experiences and helping others. Take care.
Welcome to the club of people who are unable to articulate certain thoughts and feelings, and rely on the band's music to meaningfully experience those thoughts and feelings. I am jealous - I'd love to be able to go to my first show again.
I've teared up or had them streaming down my face multiple times during shows: hearing Release during the encore at Bonnaroo with my dad, them opening with Long Road in Toronto, and the opening notes of Pendulum in St. Paul right after they walked on stage (probably others that I'm not thinking of as well). I also have had tears running down my face when we saw Phil Collins a handful of years ago, which was completely unexpected that his songs would hit me so hard. So don't worry at all about being emotional during the show.
Enjoy your first show. My first was when I was in high school in 1996 and I was a fan (had Vs on cassette/knew the radio songs) but wasn't nearly a diehard until after so I didn't know a lot of the songs that were played that night. Going in having been a long time fan would be awesome.

I probably spent way more time on this than I should have lol, I imagine the arrangement is sloppy, but something like this would be cool. I'd love to hear others setlists too if they have em
Go Spin The Black Circle Do The Evolution In Hiding Gonna See My Friend Who Ever Said Wreckage Dark Matter Once Garden Won't Tell Amongst The Waves Given to Fly Unthought Known Black Come Back Yellow Moon Better Man Corduroy Animal Light Years Ghost Never Destination Hard To Imagine I Won't Back Down Sonic Reducer
I can't. I started typing and then erased it. I cannot express it in words, I don't know how. I am a grown man, been a fan since I was 10. This is ridiculous.
Some may say I am not as big a fan as those that have seen them live 5, 10, 50 times because I have never seen them live, but I am. I have not been loyal to the 10c. In fact the first time I ever joined was a few years ago when my wife surprised me with a year subscription and got me a shirt and a bunch of stickers.
Something told me to reup my subscription this past September, I don't know what or why, but I did. I am so glad I did. I was able to get tickets through the 10c for the upcoming Raleigh, NC show and this will be my first time to ever see them live and I cannot put in words how excited I am. I am going to share this experience with my Wife and again on the second night with my Wife and my Son. The seats are not the greatest but I really don't care. I don't know if I believe in fate or not but whatever got me to this point I'm grateful.
I used to be able to articulate feelings and emotions in words better when I was younger, I guess I'm just getting old or something, idk. I hope I don't get emotional at the show, because I basically did writing this. I want to just delete this post but fuck it, I'm going to send it.
Wait until the arena is all abuzz, the piano music is playing away, then the lights go down……. Truly hair-raising, one of best feelings you can have on this planet…….
Lol^^ What bring the waterworks? (Asking for a friend)
Me: Hard to Imagine Fatal Release Inside Job
Saw them in August 1993. My 2nd show wasn't until 2003 in Fargo. When Ed started in on Arc, I fucking lost it. I just started bawling.
Fast forward to 2014 in St Paul. Pendulum -> Release opener. I always thought Oceans was the only Ten track I hadn't seen live (didn't keep track back then). But my heart knew. As soon as they started in on Release, I started weeping openly.

But if the band wants to guarantee the waterworks here, they should play Immortality. Sobbing guaranteed.
