I really had a lot of fun with some Pittsburgh people I met, even walking around in my Eagles Super Bowl hat. And kudos to the Primanti waitress for giving me shit about my hat - way to defend your hometown! Very good times.
Were you by chance in the FNB club on Friday with some British guys?
I was in section 103 which is FNB but I was on my own. Then during the wishlist tag I cried and the people around me thought I was weird.

We stopped there on the way to Wrigley in 2013.  Extremely moving.
Yea I felt it my man, lotta emotions being there … being from NY, I’ve now unfortunately paid my respects at all 3 sites now… didn’t even realize it was close to Pitt on the way back saw the sign on the highway and just said I have to go and spent 1.5hrs there… a group of school kids were there too…. Just driving in I got a feeling, couldn’t shake it. On the way out, Sirius PJ radio studio version of Long Road started about 15 seconds after we got in the car…hard to hold it together

I haven’t visited although I live close.  Many, many talk about the feelings you’ve described.  I’m sure being from NY brought even more emotion.

And if you ever come back and y’all win again next year a back to back shirt, hat would be ok with Pgh.  If it’s true it’s true!

My son was born in Norristown so we cheer for Pittsburgh and Philly (we love Philly).

Will be rooting for Philly if that ass Aaron Rodger’s comes here.

Wasn't me with the British guys.

Heard a lot of people saying No Aaron Rodgers. Ladies selling me beer who loved my Gritty shirt said that too. NFL execs really let their politics make decisions for them.

Pitt is really into their sports teams like Philly - pretty cool. Too bad they don't have a professional baseball team anymore.

Heard no Aaron today also.  Thank God!
We’ve got that new “huge” quarterback that we can wait to mature but you’ve got to let him play first.

Yes we are, for good reason, but baseball, don’t even get me started.  We will never be able to keep Skenes.  Owner is too cheap.  Story of our existence.  However, most Pgh fans are fair weather fans and I can say that cause I’m from here and it’s true.

And forgot, it’s awesome have more than one city in the same state doing well.  That said, go Phillies!!!!!

partner and i did the millvale music fest on saturday, basically from 130p til the last band ended around 1a. saw probably 10-12 different, mostly great bands. and other than beer/food (reasonably priced!) it was all free. a real fantastic way to spend the off day between shows, we had so much fun.

our hotel was next to the venue and full of pj fans. that part was cool, got to talk to a lot of different folks from all over. but the number of couples and small concert buddy groups carrying around 12+ posters and multiple skate decks and who knows what else in their overstuffed bags was disgusting.

i’d never been to pittsburgh. it’s a beautiful city and i wouldn’t hesitate to come back if the opportunity presented itself.

I stuck around yesterday for the Pirates game, what a beautiful park and the loaded pierogi from Manny's were awesome, highly recommended if you ever get back there. But that's the last time I take the Amtrak Floridian line. It was already a late departure, 11:59pm. I thought that was fine, I'd hit up a bar after the game then hop on the train and try to get some sleep. Well, it was the worst train experience I've ever had. I started getting delay notifications in the afternoon. By around the end of the game, it was up to 2 hours. Bad, but not the end of the world. Well, it kept getting worse, finally the train arrived at 3:30am. But then for some reason we just sat there until finally leaving at almost 5am! I got back to Chicago around 2pm when originally it was supposed to be 8:45am. As bad as that was though, it still couldn't ruin the amazing weekend I had.

It's hard to admit this, but I had a fantastic time in Pittsburgh. Didn't get to The Strip until Sunday - what an awesome neighborhood! Did you guys tell me about this area???

.. or Delta.  Ground stop in MSP caused  us to be delayed, only 20 minutes or so. Our connecting flight was literally the next gate over, so we deplaned and hustled over to the other plane which was boarding.  And then we  hoped, in vain, that our bags were among the ones they loaded at the last minute. Arrived in San Diego after midnight without even a toothbrush. :-(

Great shows, great to make the trip and see family.

Our drive home Monday turned out to be sucky as well. The normally 8 hour drive to Illinois turned into an 11 hour funfest. Both West bound lanes of I-70 were closed due to an accident. It took us 2.5 hours to go less than 5 miles. The added bonus was that the delay caused us to have to go through Indianapolis during the afternoon commute traffic. It was still a great weekend though!

I-70 in Illinois is easily one of the rings of hell.

Glad I jolted at 4:30 Monday morning.

Yeah, they are very much still with me today.

It was between the Ohio border and Indianapolis about 10 miles West of Richmond, but yes I-70 in Illinois sucks. My SIL is an Illinois State trooper, and I-70 is part of his patrol area. He has tons of stories about stupid crap that happens on it. It sucks in Indiana and Missouri too. I hate that interstate.

Still ISO that elusive N1 T-shirt (in 2x) to commemorate what was the most meaningful moment for me as a PJ fan ever.

@BeerBaron @Ryan and I made our way to Pizza Parma after the 2nd show and the slices were delicious. Perfect send off to the PIT shows!

    Thanks again Pittsburgh!
