I went to that tour. The whole venue was GA. Mad crush to get in. Luckily no one died. But it got scary for a moment.

I’m ashamed to say I was wrong, not my first solo gig😵‍💫 My memory clearly is not what it used to be. Actual first gig that I wasn’t dragged too was Oasis 26 Nov 95. I so wish it was the Soundgarden one tho 😂

Ok. I was in nj and seats up top. Don't remember if there was GA. Do recall going to shows and you didn't want to be on the floor. Some were throwing fireworks from above. Might have been a random time, but stuck with me.

Yeah in the late 70’s idiots actually would set off fireworks inside arena shows whisky & fireworks and rock! 75 I was top row for Led Zeppelin and soon as the band came on stage someone next to us light a Roman candle I didn’t know what was going on I thought it was part of the show! And then in 77 MSG Page threatened to leave stage if people didn’t stop blowing off M80’s, people would actually light them and throw them down to the stage or have them blow off close above the stage! Crazy drunken fools

    Motley Crue - 1984

We skipped school the day that tickets went on sale and went to the mall to the Ticketmaster outlet located in one of the department stores. When the roll gate to the store started opening a throng of waiting metalheads dropped to the floor, rolled under the opening gate and tore through the store to get to the ticket window. The show sold out, but luckily we were able to score tickets at the very back of the house. Not great seats, but it was still an incredible show. Shout At The Devil!

I do consider my 1st real true rock show to be Led Zeppelin 75 Nassau Coliseum 15 years old attended it with 3 friends from my neighborhood I remember getting my dad to drive us to get tickets back then I think we paid $15 for the top row of the arena!
I was exactly the same age as you when I attended my first gig. One of my older brothers had to accompany me and a classmate to the venue. I wanted to be front row, but my brother insisted to stay at the back near the bar. That was definitely the right choice considering all the fighting and moshing that took place right in front of the stage
I took my younger sister to her first concert when she was 14 - an all ages show for the Circle Jerks at the old 9:30 Club in DC. It didn’t take her long to figure out why I had us standing near the back.
