To MIKE McCREADY: we love your guitar improvs!

Apparently, last night at the Sydney concert, Ed said they read someone online calling out Mike on his live improvs. They ended up playing Alive like the album version.

I'm hoping someone shows this post to Mike. I personally LOVE your improvs - bring them on! Your jamming really showcases your immense talent and passion for your art. Don't listen to the haters and rock on. Besr part of any show.

I hope ya'll join me here and bump so he sees / get told about it.

Mike was on a whole other level last night, and that’s the way it should always be!

This was Even Flow, the second song of the set, so we knew from the very beginning it was going to be a special night.

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”

Who  would fuss about Mikey going off? How strange. He's full of heart and passion and feeling the music. I celebrate that and him.

My daughter plays guitar (in a band, also takes lessons)

At Auckland 1 Mike was soloing with his eyes shut, and she couldn’t understand how it could even be a thing?

Lucky for her she missed Auckland 2, when he was soloing behind his head.

Mike McCready has been the most influential guitar player in terms of my approach to leads.  I love his style and bite it constantly without even trying to do so (even though I'm nowhere near as awesome or proficient)!  I tend to gravitate towards stone's style for rhythm on electric, and Eddie on acoustic.  I love how all of these guys play really, and there's so much diversity between them all.  As far as a live setting, I think PJ does a really great job of adhering to the albums where it really counts with plenty of room for improvisation and jamming.  They're not a jam band, but rather a band who jams, and that to me is a super sweet spot to be.  Much love from this guy!

Mike McCready is legitimately a guitar wizard.  He has been amazing, along with the rest of the band.  The improvs are special and the true fans welcome them.  Please don't cater to critics like that.  I love Pearl Jam for their artistry, and when they perform live, that is when they showcase their talents to us.  Keep on rockin :rock_on:

Mike is a phenomenal guitarist, but does he improv? Like I m thinking improv like Trey from phish or Jerry from the dead.  Mike doesn’t improv like that.  Sure his solos are always different but he isn’t exactly improving anything.  He doesn’t seem to be that type of guitarist.

Literally the beauty of Mike's playing is when he gets into a zone and expresses himself in that moment. That is what makes him special. This person needs to stay home and listen to the album if they want to hear the exact same thing.
